Ccapac Inka Ollanta Boutique 3 stars

Ollantaytambo

A blend of traditional architecture and contemporary interiors, this boutique hotel is framed by charming flowered gardens and an Andes Mountain backdrop. It is a 90-minute drive from downtown Cuzco. Location Just steps away from the ruins of Ollantaytambo, on the edge of peaceful farm fields, with views of snow capped mountains and the ruins from the hotel, it was a wonderful place to spend a couple days. A couple minutes beyond the ruins is the main town square and restaurants. The hotel is family owned and they are super friendly and helpful. When taking the train to Machu Picchu from here this is a great place to stop and spend some time. Garden A wonderful place to sit and relax with more flowers than the botanical garden we visited in Machu Picchu, as well as hummingbirds and other birds. No sounds of traffic here, just nature. Lounges/common areas Multiple options to sit inside and relax in comfortable furniture or at tables, in various locations throughout the hotel. Breakfast A wonderful breakfast is served: organic coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, delicious eggs (the best fried and scrambled eggs we had the entire trip), a platter of fresh options including tomatoes, avacado, cucumber, cheeses, meats to put on bakery fresh buns, as well as fruit, granola and yogurt. Attractions nearby We visited the main ruins of Ollantaytambo while we were here, and also on the advice of the owner the lesser known ruins across the village from the main ruins (which are free) and offer great views of the main ruins, we also wandered the village which we were told is the only original Inca village still inhabited, with small lane ways and original stone walls. Super cool!
