Motel One Edinburgh-Royal 3 stars

Hotel in Old Town, Edinburgh

Situated in the centre of Edinburgh, the Motel One Edinburgh-Royal is 5 minutes’ walk away from the train station, and only half a mile from the Castle. Guests can reach the historical St. I was amazed by the hotel design in the Scottish style. Throughout our stay I was constantly finding some little features that impressed me. We had a window on the top of the room, and this was very cute and unusual. Hotel staff was another pleasant suprise for me: everyone was so friendly, smiling and helpful. Breakfast was also good: very rich, varied and tasty. The hotel is located in a perfect place - it's just across the road from the railway station and 5-minute walk from the Royal Mile. I am glad we chose Motel One. Our trip to Edinburgh wouldn't have been so delightful if we hadn't stayed in this hotel.

Hotel Ceilidh-Donia 3 stars

Hotel in Newington, Edinburgh

This small, family-run metro hotel has easy access by bus to Edinburgh city centre, less than 2 miles away. It offers free on-street parking, free WiFi, en-suite rooms and a bar. No doubt we will stay here again next time we are in the area. I would say Ceilidh-Donia exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very nice and clean. The proprietor Kevin was very welcoming and professional. He was very informative and helpful. The Hotel is well located so we easily took the bus into Old Town and then walked home in the evening. Breakfast was delicious and well organized. The Ceilidh-Donia accommodates a lot of guests, but has the charm of a Bed and Breakfast.
