Located in the heart of the Tambopata Candamo National Reserve, Wasai Tambopata offers its guests Amazon Expeditions and free WiFi access. Fishing trips can also be arranged in the area. Awesome location 3 hours outside of Puerto Maldonado by boat. The lodge itself was lovely, and the trails and surrounding area were full of wildlife. The staff went out of their way to make our stay amazing.
With river views, Collpas Tambopata Inn is located in Tambopata and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden and terrace. This is a unique experience only people that truly love nature would enjoy. Tambopata Inn is an excellent choice to gain Amazon rainforest experience if you consider these factors with about equal weight: location to Macaw Clay Lick (if that's an attraction for you), competence of the staff in terms of knowledge of the jungle and English skills (not sure if the managers rotate, but they were Efarin(?) and Kebi or Kevin(?) when we were there), activities they arrange for the tourists, and cost. I highly recommend this lodge.
Located 80 km from the commercial area and main square of Puerto Maldonado, Yacumama Tambopata Ecolodge offers all-inclusive accommodation in the heart of the National Reserve of Tambopata Candamo. Our experience was truly unique, very special. Unlike most lodges in the area, which belong to tourist agencies, it has been Marlene's family home for generations. Herself and Pawel intimately know the area, every bend of the river, local people, plants and animals, and they immersed us in their lifestyle for these 3 days. The days were varied, yet also very relaxing, with opportunities to walk through the jungle, see local farms, learn about plants, taste all sorts of fruits, go for night walks to see a tarantula and caymans, kayak... There is a monkey which knows the family well, and we were able to feed her and cuddle with her, which was an amazing experience. On the last day, we made a trip to an incredibly beautiful local lake, where we saw giant otters, a spider monkey, and fished piranhas which Marlene then cooked for lunch. All in all, it was everything we hoped for from our trip to the jungle, and much much more - due to the amazing hosts we had. Huge huge thank you.
Refugio Amazonas Lodge offers eco-friendly accommodation in the Tambopata National Reserve. The property features a restaurant, and some rooms include WiFi access. Honestly, we loved every bit of our stay: the activities (Macaw clay lick, night walks, and Don Manuel’s farm were our favorites), the lodge (also loved our room: already missing those quiet afternoons in the hammock), the guides (shout out to Matteo!!), the food ...
Situated in Tambopata, Tres Chimbadas Lake Lodge features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a restaurant, a bar and a garden. Everything excellent. Food was superb home cooked Peruvian and we had an amazing tour guide. Bungalows private and modern and comfortable.
Featuring a restaurant, Posada Amazonas Lodge is located in Puerto Maldonado. Free WiFi access is available in the superior rooms. I did Refugio Amazonas (1 night), Tambopata Research Center (2 nights) and Posada (1 night) - they all belong to Rainforest Expeditions. They are eco-friendly and offer truly authentic experiences. The guides all know English and biology to explain the wild life around you. I loved it and highly recommend it. It's good to do 3 because they each have different wild life / lakes / things you can see. If you're strapped for time TRC is the best - its the deepest and furthest so you see more.
Located only 3.5 hours from Puerto Maldonado city. (One hour by bus and 2.5 hrs by boat) This lodge is the only one inside the National Reserve of Tambopata. Free WiFi is featured. The location is incredible, the guides are very experienced and we learned a lot. We spent 4 nights and we saw a lot of different plants and animals. I would recommend at least 3 nights to enjoy the place. 4 nights were great
