The hotel staff was very friendly and thoughtful. In the reservation I mentioned it would be my son´s birthday and asked if they could order a little cake for us to celebrate. They called me to know which type of cake we liked and the sized, they ordered it and decorated our table for breakfast with baloons and slings.
The room as big enough for a family of 4, the location is great, around 10 minutes walk to the center.

We stayed at De Meester together with two kids. The place is very cosy and well furnitured. The sofa bed is not comfortable for adults but good enough for kids. The location is perfect and we recommend the restaurant downstairs for breakfast. It was delicious.

Great atmosphere. You have your own comfy little house, tried to keep it in authentic style. Romantic. Cute. Sure, that means tiny staircases and all, but that’s part of the fun. Clean, quiet though very close to the city centre. Nespresso- machine well stocked. Breakfast 50 meter away, in nice little coffee shop. Good experience.
When looking for a hotel in Middelburg I came across this one. The room looked a little dated, but if you’re not looking for a hotel that looks pretty on your Instagram pictures, who cares?! The bed was great and the staff made our stay excellent. The bartender was really fun. He even offered some snacks with your drinks for free (olives, cheese, et cetera). The breakfast was also more than I expected for what we paid. Besides the hotel is located near the city center. So to summarize: great hotel for the price you pay.

Most of all, the super helpful and super friendly staff -- truly awesome! Our appartment was very well and tastefully equipped. Small but efficient kitchenette, great modern bathroom (with japanese toilet seat from space). Big 4k wall TV was a big plus for the teenage kids and their gaming. Immaculately clean and well-maintained. Short walking distance from the center, yet quietly located. Easy access to outdoor smoking area. You can see that the owning family puts in a lot of love, thought and attention to detail.
