Hostel Aachen

Aachen Mitte, Aachen

Boasting a garden, Hostel Aachen is set in Aachen in the North Rhine-Westphalia region, 1 km from Historical Town Hall Aachen and 1.3 km from Theatre Aachen. The property is around 1.3 km from Aachen Cathedral, 2.8 km from Eurogress Aachen and 4 km from Aachener Soers Equitation Stadium. Free WiFi and a shared kitchen are offered. Absolutely marvelous! I have traveled to 38 countries in my life and have stayed in countless hostels around the world. Hostel Aachen is not my all-time favorite - but it is pretty close! I took a weekend getaway to Aachen while living in Germany. I booked Hostel Aachen because it was a good price and the location was well-reviewed. I quickly learned that this place is a hidden gem! The staff are EXCEPTIONAL - complimentary and responsive! I was given a private room, free of charge. Towels were provided to me at no extra cost. The room was clean and had a large window. The showers and bathrooms were EXTREMELY clean (not just for a hostel, but for a hotel). Facilities were also well-maintained. The building also features a lovely patio area for eating and smoking and a very large lounge area, with a kitchen (fully stocked with tea, coffee, utensils, and dishes), a large, 20-person dining table, a small kitchen table, and even a work desk and lounge love seats. The amenities are wonderful, but the best part is the staff. I was fully accommodated my entire stay and wanted for nothing - my questions about places to eat, means of travel, sites to see, and things to do were all answered promptly and with great detail. And the staff is simply simpatico. I extended my stay an extra day! Oh, and the location is ridiculous! You can walk 10 minutes to the main square or take a bus 5 minutes or a scooter for 3 minutes. And the train station is literally across the street! Unbelievable!

Jugendherberge Aachen

You can play table tennis at this hostel, and the area is popular for hiking. Theatre Aachen is 2.5 km from Jugendherberge Aachen, while Aachen Cathedral is 2.6 km away. The Aachen Central Train Station is 2.9 km away. It's the location which I loved about this place if I want to describe it's little bit outskirts of city not more than 3 km from main station hbf. It's really hard to describe how it looks like but I would say it's a wonderful place. I shared my room with four different nationals and they happen to be all students, we got to know each other very well and we spent a day going to City to hangout. It was only a night stay for me but I really had a fantastic time. Nonetheless there was Patrick who made this day even much better.

Hostels. What are they?

Way more than just a cheap place to sleep, hostels are a social way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens or games rooms are great ways to swap tips, tricks and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long, long way since the first youth hostel opened in 1912. From budget 'crash-pads' to five-star 'poshtels', today, hostels are for everybody, so whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll find most hostels are cheaper than a local hotel and far more fun.
