One of the best hostels I stayed in, it felt more like a luxury hotel, it totally exceeded my expectations - the interior design, the outside space with a small swimming pool, huge room with modern bathroom, it felt really like home and I will certainly be back there in the future :) Breakfast served on the terrace was amazing and the lady at the reception super friendly and helpful, highly recommended!

Nice Way Cascais Hostel & Surf Camp

Cascais

Centrally located in Cascais, Nice Way Cascais Hostel & Surf Camp is a 10-minute walk from the nearest train station. The property features surf classes and an outdoor swimming pool. Guests can make use of a bar, communal kitchen and barbecue facilities. I stayed few days there at the end of my trip in Portugal, after staying at different accomodations. It was by far the best I stay in. I was in a dorm of 6 bed. This is good quality ) value. The little curtain on each bunk bed is very clever and convenient. The hostel is clean and new inside, with a nice decoration. The shared areas (pool, terrasse, kitchen...) are nice places where you want to stay and meet people. The staff was also great and friendly too. The surf lessons are good too, with good teachers. This is the perfect place too chill out a bit, get easy going and meet nice people.

Hostels. What are they?

Way more than just a cheap place to sleep, hostels are a social way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens or games rooms are great ways to swap tips, tricks and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long, long way since the first youth hostel opened in 1912. From budget 'crash-pads' to five-star 'poshtels', today, hostels are for everybody, so whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll find most hostels are cheaper than a local hotel and far more fun.
