Goodmorning Solo Traveller Hostel

Baixa / Chiado, Lisbon

Providing free bed linen, the bright and airy dormitories at the Goodmorning Solo Traveller Hostel include large windows and have wooden floors. The spacious shared bathrooms are equipped with separate shower cabins. The property is set on a renovated historic building from the 1930's and has no lift. Probably the best hostel I've been to yet. The atmosphere and staff were so good - from breakfast, "power hour" in the evening were you can get unlimited beer/sangria and meet people, pretty cheap dinners every night, social games, pub crawls - a perfect place for solo travelers to meet up with other fellow travelers. Hostel is in a good location - really close to a Metro and Rail station, walking distance from the a lot of places in the city. Also the bedrooms and bathrooms were good - clean, comfortable enough, big lockers, etc..

Hostels. What are they?

Way more than just a cheap place to sleep, hostels are a social way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens or games rooms are great ways to swap tips, tricks and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long, long way since the first youth hostel opened in 1912. From budget 'crash-pads' to five-star 'poshtels', today, hostels are for everybody, so whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll find most hostels are cheaper than a local hotel and far more fun.
