Silom, Bangkok

Located in Bangkok, Ekanek Hostel is a 1-minute walk from Patpong and provides facilities like terrace and shared lounge. Ideally situated in the Bang Rak district, this hostel offers a bar. Snake Farm-Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute is 300 metres from the hostel. It was spotless, this is the cleanest hostel I’ve ever staying at. The person at the front desk gave valuable information about getting around, tourist places and everything I asked for. He was kind and made a call for me to ask about Thai dances. He also upgraded my room and I had a room which was empty and had a bunk bed for myself, after staying for a night at a dorm. The location is very good, it’s walking distance from the Patpong night market as well as massage spots,7/11, Starbucks etc...

Hostels. What are they?

Way more than just a cheap place to sleep, hostels are a social way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens or games rooms are great ways to swap tips, tricks and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long, long way since the first youth hostel opened in 1912. From budget 'crash-pads' to five-star 'poshtels', today, hostels are for everybody, so whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll find most hostels are cheaper than a local hotel and far more fun.
