Each wing has 1 BEDROOM WITH 1 DOUBLE BED and 1 BEDROOM WITH 1 DOUBLE BED OR 2 TWIN BEDS plus one sitting room with a double sofa bed. Versailles Home Palace is a historical site that is similar in every way to the “Petits Appartements” on the 2nd floor of the Palace of Versailles: the same woodwork and fireplaces, the same parquet floors, the same alcove and the same ceiling height. The south wing has a beautiful room: the Grand sitting room.
 It has a surface area of 280 sq. ft. and overlooks a spacious bedroom through a double door.
Both windows overlook a garden of roses and well manicured shrubs. This combined suite layout gives an intimate atmosphere of 453 sq. ft. space that also opens onto the 2nd bedroom. The building of Versailles Home Palace is often referred to in the texts of the time as “Hôtel de Maintenon” and it is likely that Louis XIV had it built to offer a refuge sheltered from the Palace Court to Madame de Maintenon whom he had secretly married in 1683. Madame de Maintenon would have become queen of France if the news of her marriage to Louis XIV had been made public.
Therefore the secret of this marriage was well kept at the time, even if everyone had suspected it and discussed the matter. A letter from Madame de Maintenon indicates she had destroyed all the documents concerning the royal couple she formed with Louis XIV.
Therefore, there are little remains of this mysterious marriage. The “Salon Alcôve” in the North Wing of Versailles Home Palace was probably Madame de Maintenon’s bedroom when she wanted to avoid the Court’s pressure.
 The « Grand Salon » in the South Wing of Versailles Home Palace was most likely her boudoir. Only very comfortable furniture and all modern facilities are proof of the change of era. Woodwork, parquet floors, fireplaces and mirrors are all original and the aristocratic spirit of the place is still present, maintained by its owner
