I stayed with my friends in Sergey's house and honestly confess it was my best experience of all three that I had before in Khuzhir. This is a very comfortable, cozy house, with a pleasant interior, comfortable bedroom with a large bed, shower with hot water (not everywhere there is an opportunity to find a house with hot water on Olkhon), and in miniature and functional kitchen. it is very important to have kind and helpful hosts who will help you to suggest what to visit on the island.
RussiaThe breakfast is good. You can have your breakfast inside the room when you get up with a fantastic window view of the lake. If you are an animal lover, you will love the pet dog Lucy, pet cat Michia, husky puppies and goats they raise.
TaiwanWe stay just one night at Philoxenia. It’s was so difficult to leave the Sergey’s house. He knows how to make our stay amazing and relaxing because of his extreme kindness and advices about the island. Sergei speaks Russian, English and French. The room was large and clean. The little kitchen was very usefull. The location of the house is great, close to the shaman rocks. It was magic and I hope I will come back soon during few days.
FranceThe location is really great! Near the chamanka rock, one of the most famous sight of this Island. The room was big and with toilets room in the same room. The view from the window was unbelievable! I could stay hours there looking at the lake from a chair! The little kitchen is also really usefull just next the door of the room. If I had a longer stay I would have really loved to read one of the books about siberia because they seems really interesting and they are in my languages : French! :)

They have a private banya in the garden which we could use for free.

We are located on top of the Khujir's hill between the Shaman Rock and the Port right in front of Baikal's Small Sea. Our new house's mansard with 2 independent rooms is at the disposal of our guests who are welcome to enjoy the excellent view SUNRISE and SUNSET near the only orthodox temple of Olkhon. One room has a direct view over the Small Sea and the church. The second room has a larger view over the village, the mountains and the Small Sea with the peak of the Shaman Rock. Ideally - to book two rooms to have a whole specter of sight-seeing from your both rooms. The access to the rooms is independent day and night. There is a kitchenette for those who don't want to leave their residence for having meals outside. We are open to help drive our guests around the island and to various cafes & restaurants when we are available...but all here is accessible by walking as it's a small village. Tours by ice and by boat as well as car tours are arranged upon arrival after checking in. Bicycles and quads are easy to rent on the main street BAIKALSKAYA which is down the hill where we are based. You play piano or guitar, feel free to ask access to them and create an artistic ambiance.
Before we are settled in Baikal's Olkhon island, we had traveled intensively mainly throughout Europe and Middle East. Now our voyage continues through receiving guests who come from all over the world. Our experience, knowledge and willingness to help are here for Olkhon guests who make our living. Families with children may enjoy cultural exchange with our three kids. We speak French, English and Greek (trying to learn the Chinese, but slowly))).
A playground for children is by the church near the house. Fishermen arrive with fresh fish to the local port down the hill. The top of the Shaman Rock is seen from one of the rooms. A cafe/restaurant with a bania/sauna are next door. A walking area is around. We are located between the two main beaches, all in 7 minute access by walk. Many of our neighbors provide cars for various tours around Olkhon island (both North, South and winter tours around the Lake Baikal). Information Center is near the school which is 150 meters down the hill. A small port with fishermen boats and tourist caters is down the hill. In the busiest period of summer time, our place allows to keep still and quiet atmosphere which is not the case in other highly populated tourist bases.
