“Very nice place, living next to elephants is magic, the bungalo was very clean, it has mosquito nets on windows and over the bed. Very convienient to get there, you leave the car at the parking at the main road and then use suspension bridge to get to the hotel, so no cars inside and I had a feeling like I live in jungles. “This is an amazing place to visit in Chang Mai. If you love animals this is the place to see them in Thailand, there were about 8 elephants when we went and there are plenty of opportunities to feed them and they have plenty of optional activities. “Staying at Chai Lai Orchid was magical, we enjoyed every part of it! When we first arrived our breath was taken away by the gorgeous setting and atmosphere. The girls at the reception and bar were warm, welcoming and really helpful! We did a 1 day elephant tour where we spent time bathing, feeding and walking with the elephants and enjoyed bamboo rafting and lunch with our hilarious tour guide. Having been to a few elephant ‘sanctuaries’ these are by far the happiest elephants we’ve seen! If you visit, make sure you read the welcome book... it explains a lot about what Chai Lai Orchid does to protect the elephants and empower the local communities and vulnerable women. The bungalow that we stayed in was very clean and comfortable and the food and cocktails in the cafe were delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back again and would recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend time with elephants in an ethical way. ” Read more
