There are a lot of sightseeing people around this area. I recommend you visit there very early morning. Some portrait-painter are there (Price : 900-1000 CZK）It takes about 30 minutes. This will be a good memories for you. I got two portraits from different painters.
Beautiful bridge, but even in September, which is meant to be outside the tourist season it was chock a Block full of people, so walking on it was arduous. Also the renovations make it impossible to take a decent photo and the statues are very dark due to pollution. Disappointing.
Visit during sunrise to see the bridge almost empty (but make sure to check the weather forecast before). Avoid in the midday hours unless you like to be squished by the crowd which will make you oblivious to the bridge's beauty.
It had the largest crowds I saw in the entire city, except for the astronomical clock. But it has great views on the river and the castle. Ran into a very innovative street musician mimicking an entire band.
Start early! Seriously, if you come by before 8 AM or so, you'll find a beautiful, mostly quiet, atmospheric and decorated bridge with phenomenal views of Prague Castle, Old Town and the river as a whole. Come after 9AM or so, you'll find a noisy, crowded, seller-and-beggar haunted melee of tourists you almost have to push through to get across, ruining it's charms. This should really be rated top because it is fantastic, but you seriously need to come early or I suppose during the night.
Regretfully, my first and best memories of Charles Bridge are from the '70s when the town shut down at 6pm (not that I would ever desire it). Then it was possible to just sit alone on the bridge in early evening at Charles Bridge (maybe one or two others) and soak up Prague Castle. I still recommend walking in the early evening up to Prague Castle. It's the fantastic time, just hope it isn't too crowded.
I like the location, in the very center, about 5 minutes walk from Charles Bridge and metro stops. The apartment is on the first floor, with a small balcony, the house is quiet. Shower, two toilets, two bedrooms, spacious and equipped kitchen to basic habits, fast and free wifi. Owner very nice gentleman. In the vicinity there is a restaurant, a small grocery store, 5 minutes walk from Národní Třída and a shopping center. I recommend!
- Location is excellent, walking from old town/main square and walking to all major destinations. Just 2 kms walk to Charles Bridge as well. - Lokal which is a famous restaurant here to try authentic and cheap czech meals is just opposite side to this hotel - Wifi was good - Value for money - Decently clean - Breakfast was decent but same things every morning is kind of boring
Everything was perfect. We got beautyful apartment with everything we needed. The place was clean, quiet and Max was very helpful with everything we needed. The neighborhood was also peaceful but close to the Charles Bridge, Hradczany, and the Center of Prague. We will be back for sure! Many thanks to all the staff of Moo :)
Safe, bright and spacey apartment with nice balcony equipped with everything you will ever need. Superb location, very close to Charles Bridge and Malostranské náměstí from where you can pick a Tram and go wherever you want. In a walking distance to Hradčany, Petrin, City Center.... The bed was extra comfortable.
Lazenska No4 is a truly lovely place to stay! It's situated in a charming location, right next to Charles Bridge - surrounded by beautiful streets and amazing views. The staff was very polite and professional. The apartment was clean, extremely cosy and spacious. A place worth recommending!!!
A well positioned hotel within walking distance of the charles bridge and other historical highlights of prague. Located on the same street as Gennet ivf clinic, and other supermarkets and takeaways that should see you through your stay
I like the place and the building of the hotel. Room are big enough and very clean. Employees are very nice. Very calm area. The hotel is very close to the castle and to Charles Bridge.
I highly recommend MOODS Charles Bridge Hotel. It's very comfortable with amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. We had very late check in, without any problems.
Stay in a Central Location , from where you can easily walk around the main areas and from the tram is accessible- Must see Old Town Square, Charles Bridge , Palladium Shopping arcade incase you want to shop brands , area around Palladium has so many shops where you can buy souvenirs' , Wenceslas Square these are all areas what you can walk around and see. Take a tram to go to prague castle.
Be prepared to wander off the beaten track. There are lovely gardens in Mala Strana and around the castle which are usually very peaceful. Petrin Hill is great for walking - it is steep, but there is a great funicular railway if you don't fancy the climb. The view rom here is lovely - and also from Letna Park, by the giant metronome. Stromovka is another nice park where you won't be tripping over other tourists and the area around Vysehrad tends to be quiet too. Prague Castle opens quite early and a ticket will give you entry on 2 days. Buy your ticket early to avoid the queues and give you time to see around everything. If you are an early riser, head to Charles Bridge before 10am to avoid the crowds. May is a great time to visit Prague. It is usually sunny, the cherry blossom is out and there are fewer tourists than in the summer. Avoid July and August when it is hot and crowded if you can.
Avoid the area around the Charles Bridge like the plague on Friday and Saturday nights if you don't want to deal with crowds.
Well maintained and easily reachable. River view from Vysehrad castle is unforgettable. Walking towards main castle from charles bridge gives you altogether different expereince which can not be missed when you are in Prague .
Stood on Charles Bridge looking out towards Prague Castle at night wrapped around the one you love....... Honestly the most amazing feeling. Absolutely gorgeous city!!!!!
Leave the tourist areas! Get away from Charles Bridge and Old Town, find a little pub tucked away. Take the tram somewhere and go wandering. If you are in Old Town, check out the Koruna cafeteria (next to Hooters) for some cheap, delicious authentic Czech cuisine. It's where the locals go when they have to be in Old Town.
