My family and I have recently visited zoos in Stockholm, Prague and Vienna. All were great, but Prague was our favorite. So many animals, in a huge area, lots of exercise and a cheap entry ticket. This is an absolute must see. Plan to spend a minimum of three hours here.
allow a lot of time we were there 3 hours and could have spent a great deal more. BUY a map upon entering very helpful to see everything that you want. The arial ride there is change availalbe from attendants to buy tickets. You DO GET CHARGED for ride BOTH ways so bring extra change.
Free shuttle bus from Nadrazi Holesovice metro stop, which runs every 30 mins IIRC takes you straight to the entrance. 200kc admission is reasonable. Allow a full day to make your way around the whole site and wear comfortable footwear
5 hours were not enough for us so better have full day to stroll. We've been there at the beginning of December and most of animals were out. Those which prefer warmer climate you can still see inside the pavilons. There are few places to buy some food and many vendor machines with coffee, water and snacks. Toilets are clean and for free. At the entrance you can buy ZOO map for 5 kronas but you will also find big maps and signposts all around the place.
I had already stayed in the Hostel Homér Libeň previously, so I have known very well what to expect, and I was satisfied, same as previously. Excellent budget overnight accommodation for visiting Prague ZOO (quite close to) or a stop during a longer journey. Don't expect any extras, just a modern, clean a spatios enough room with a shared bathroom/WC (no problem for me at all). I strongly appreciate easy and free parking virtually in front of the hostel. Will come back again.
