Very impressive. If you go into the DZ Bank you can see an interesting sculpture. Hotel Adlon brings back memories of Michael Jackson dangling his baby son Blanket out the window. Watch out for cyclists as you walk through the gate as you can wander into their path/trajectory whilst marvelling at the gate!
it is a nice place .very grate and the line on the street which show the territory of west and east Berlin, every thing is amusing ,many people in every minute visit there , and you can understand why the war is bad ,and humanity will remain for every time.i suggest to every one to visit BRANDENBURG GATE.
Watch out for people with clipboards posing as representatives of an organisation collecting for handicapped people. They have a badly photocopied logo of a wheelchair, ask you to leave your name and address and then demand cash.
If you want a great picture of the gate, go to the opposite side of the sun, so the gate comes in between you and the sun. It creates play of shadow and light that adds depth to the shot otherwise missing.
Superb, you are near the Reichstag so bring your photo Id and pop to the booking office to reserve a place to the Reichstag dome its on the street next to the souvenier shop outside the Reichstage. Took lots photos of the Gate.
Be aware of the people who ask you to sign a peition. Once you have signed you are asked to provide proof of identity with a bank card. While you're doing this some crafty handwork is occurring in your wallet /bag. Occurred in many tourist areas.
Traveled with my 2 adult children and the room was super spacious with a balcony looking into a lovely courtyard. Only 5 minutes away from Checkpoint Charlie and yet very quiet and safe neighborhood. Plenty of bakeries and restaurants nearby also. You can walk within 20 minutes to the Brandenburg Gate/Reichtstag and everything in that corner. Subway stations are close by or you take one of the many electric scooters at any street corner. It was a perfect weekend in Berlin and I most definitely would stay at the Mercure again!
The hotel is in a perfect location near the Kurfürstendamm and a metro station. There is also, at 2 mn walking distance, a bus stop which brings you directly to the Brandenburg Gate. The hotel itself is nice and clean and has a private car parking at a reasonnable rate. Small supermarket just across the road and some restaurants (not tested). At 3 minutes there is the KaDeWe a very big shopping mall and of course, if you walk 2 minutes more you're in the middle of the Kurfürstendamm.
The location is impeccable in downtown Berlin. You have almost instant access to the Alexanderplatz train station along with SBAHN & UBAHN. Right out the door is the 5 story Galleria shopping center along with Museum Island and the Brandenburg gate within 20 min or less walk. Highly recommend the location for anyone looking to visit Berlin. Abundant parking was available in the Q parking center (24 Euro/day) which was adjacent to the hotel.
The Apart hotel has a very good location - just 10minutes walking from Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag. Quit location. Museum Island is 20minutes walked. The apartment is spacious with sitting area & fully equipped kitchenette. The breakfast is in a different building (just next door) and very delicious with a great selection of breads, muesli, jams, hams, cheese etc. Very kind staff in the kitchen and on the reception.
We didn't know much about the surrounding location prior to our visit but it turned out to be a superb location which we will definitely be coming back to. Lots of interesting restaurants and close to a gay quarter with unique night life. It's about 40min walking distance to the Brandenburg Gate. The hotel itself was clean, the beds were comfortable, it included a mini fridge and a kettle.
Good selection at breakfast but cooked food was cold. Excellent location, very near to the hauptbanhoff and major sites like the Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Hotel bar closed sunday perhaps a relief barman would be the way forward? Hygiene was superb and at breakfast every precaution was taken to keep guests safe during covid 19.
Tram right outside hotel, could take to Hbf & downtown to area around DDR museum. TXL bus out to airport stopped just across from hotel & down a Block, convenient coming to city by train bus or air. Museum of Nature across street but no time to visit. Brandenburg Gates & other sites in that area an easy walk
We had a private room which was pretty spacious with a private bathroom. There is a nice view from the terrace of this hostel and free parking space which is great for a place in the city centre. The Brandenburg Gate is app. 25 minutes of walk from the hostel as well as other main atractions in Berlin city center.
The Hotel's location is great. Checkpoint Charlie and Mall of Berlin are 5 minutes, Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag are 10 minutes by walk. The hotel is also very close to subway station. The breakfast was great and has various kind of foods and beverages. The staff was kind and friendly.
The hotel staff was very polite and friendly. Breakfast was great, a lot to choose from. Hotel is located in the city centre, 10-15 minutes bus ride to Brandenburg gate and Reichstag. The room was clean.
