Hotel Constantin is a comfortable hotel set in a traditional old stone house and is located 5 minutes from the centre of Arles. It offers free WiFi access and a secured private parking for motorbikes.... Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The room was so cute, and absolutely spotless.
The scale of it was awesome. All the Arles monuments are worth a visit with something different to offer at each site. You can buy an Advantage Pass for the six monuments at the tourist Information Centre on Blvd des Lices.
If you intend to see all the roman and medieval sites you can buy a pass that lets you visit them all much cheaper than individually. Go to the cloisters at the Cathedrale Sainte-Trophime for the ticket.
Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing if you are there in the summer. It's extremely hot. Seek out restaurants on the little side streets as opposed to surrounding the Amphitheater. However, you can't go wrong anywhere in Arles.
If you have the opportunity go to a bullfight, it is a once in a lifetime experience. To think that Roman Gladiators were once in this arena fighting. The restoration work in this arena is magnificent.
There is not a lot to see inside but there is plenty of information and the view from the tower is interesting. Enjoy walking around the outside. (We had lunch looking at the outside which was pleasant.)
If you have vertigo stick to the lower levels... You can still see how impressive it is. When standing in front of the entrance, stand far out... My partner was unfortunately hit by a boy or boys on a school trip spitting down on the crowd from the top of the amphitheatre.
Full of character, this charming historic house looks directly onto the Arles amphitheatre. It is beautifully furnished with excellent air conditioning.
