Tower itself is incredible, go up at night the entire tower lights up on the hour every hour. We got a lift up and walked the steps down. But book online as the booked advanced ticket line is next to non compared to people arriving on a whim needing to line up for hours. Be prepared for people selling tat from every angle!
Photo opportunity!! We went 2 times during the trip. We went at night when it’s all lit up - it’s STUNNING at night and the views from the top of the city lights is just beyond beautiful 2nd visit by day, used the cafe there & the gift shop. Brilliant views of the river from the top in daylight. The grounds around the Tower are also lovely. I went in February so the trees are bare then.
What happened to the spirit of Paris? Now it is encased in glass, you can't walk underneath the tower, and queues . . . one to get in, then one to go up the tower. The bad thing is the touts and souvenir sellers, who wait outside the exit to pounce, and you can't even walk around the area, as the souvenir sellers are laid out all around, it is awful. What happened to the French pride and spirit?
It was amazing! We went on a Monday afternoon without reservations. The line wasn't very long to get our tickets and spent about three hours from start to finish. That day it was overcast and perfect weather. I was very happy with our last day in Paris. That night we went back to see it light up at sunset. It was awesome!
As it goes with tourism there are alot of scammers. People will rush up to you with clipboards asking for donations after they have worked out your english. These are scams and just ignore and walk away.
We did an unusual walking tour that took us underneath the Eiffel Tower- totally worth it! I recommend doing walking tours whenever you can, so you can understand what you are looking at and have an overview of the history- it was fascinating. We stayed while it got dark and sat in a little pop up cafe - nothing flash, and saw the lights go on the Eiffel Tower- it was magical! There are many things you can see and do in Paris- and you don’t always need to pay- this was one of those moments which anyone could of enjoyed- and it didn’t have a price tag.
absolutely everything was perfect, the view to the Eiffel tower was just heartbreaking!!! the location is basically in the Heart of Paris, super safe zone, super clean room and hotel area was super stylish, fair parking fee. I stayed two nights, I went to to the beach and when I came to Paris i stayed again as we loved it so much. 100 points to this Hotel! Definetely staying here next time!
Nice location, close to metro station (2 mins walk).. 20 mins walk to Eiffel tower and 2 mins to restaurants/cafe near by. Staff are really helpful and concierge at hotel - was really helpful in providing consultations and booking tickets for us at reasonable price. Well maintained hotel in the city of Paris, safe place to stay.
Small room, but I suppose it's a normal for Paris. Good area close to Noterdam. Beautiful view to the street, but you can't see Eiffel Tower. Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. You can also ask for transfer to airport (bus/taxi). Room was cleaned by hotel staff. People in reseption kindly answered for all my question.
As a family it was a great location, close to a shopping strip, playgrounds and great coffee shops, as well as a short distance to the Eiffel Tower. As we had been to Paris before, we enjoyed exploring the area around the hotel. Our children loved the pool, the breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
Location and view are magnificent, next door to Eiffel Tower, Restaurants and Metro Station The staffs are warm, nice and service oriented, the room is very clean, bed is so comfortable and Nespresso coffee machine makes this room so outstanding Surely, I will be back to this hotel for next visit to Paris
7th arr., Paris
The hotel has an excellent location, in one minute you are at the Eiffel Tower. And from the living room you have a very good view of the landmark of Paris, the pictures of the accommodation do not promise too much here. The apartment is very spacious, there are three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The location of the hotel is very good. It takes 2min to the nearest metro station and 10min to the Eiffel Tower. A perfect starting point for a trip to Paris. The room was spacious for the price category. The bed was very comfortable, the room very quiet (hotel is located in a side street).
A short work trip so locaton was "all" Boutique style hotel with personable and efficient, friendly staff Room sizes good for Paris and ideally situated for Saint Honore, Concorde, Eiffel Tower and all the main sights - I simply wish I'd had time for them!
Had a lovely stay at Odeon hotel. Beautiful hotel close to all the highlights of Paris. Really friendly personnel and comfortable room. We got a free upgrade to the superior room with a nice view on the Eiffel Tower. We highly recommend!
The hotel is closed to Eiffel Tower (15 minutes walking) and 3 minutes from a metro station. And my room has an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower.
if one goes to the Louvre you acquire headsets. It is pretty amazing viewing a painting of Napoleon crowning Josephine and the historical significance of this amazing piece of art is explained in the most beautiful artistic voice. Captivating... , not just this one painting the whole museum of priceless treasures. I felt honoured to view this amazing collection. The artifacts are breathtaking. It is amazing riding a double decker bus and wearing a headset. Two trips around the city and you are most familiar with the sights and their historical significance to start your journey. Plaques in doorways and on statue's leave the visitor a good over view of the past. A trip to Versailles again headsets that advise the visitors the past. The streets, the cobblestones the architecture, the open markets and cafe's, the preservation of the past intact is so very amazing to a first time visitor. Paris is exciting! Paris is busy. Paris is steeped in culture and is bigger than life itself. I stood beneath the Eiffel Tower and looked up trying to imagine the past and the men that built this magnificent structure. The residents of Paris make their city come to life. They are proud of their city. Very clean and orderly.
Skip the Louvre & the Champs-Elysees, stroll the Tuilleries and the Latin Quarter instead, & talk to people, but remember you're in THEIR country so learn some basic French (please, thank you, G'day, G'eve, etc.) - you'll find a lot of people who speak English. Use the Metro and the "river taxi" (that's what I call it, anyway). DO enjoy cafe au lait often at outdoor cafes, look at around and up at the old buildings, take your time and soak it all in. Don't waste money on 4 & 5, or even 3 - star hotels & "fancy" restaurants - see where the most French are eating and try those places. But, I'm biased and fluent in the language. One can "do" Paris in 3 days - Musee d'Orsay, Musee Marmottan (Monets!!!), Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame, and if you must, the Arc de Triomphe, but it's not worth the hassle). Skip Versailles, go to Fountainbleau (you can get a R/T ticket at the Metro station (subway, train, bus). Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
Find all the hidden playgrounds, visit the jardin du luxembourg and budget for carousel rides. A good view of the city can be found at the top of the wheel/roue within the jardin des tuileries rather than queuing for the tour Eiffel or scycraper.
Go early!! For the Eiffel Tower we took the stairs which was fun for our children and the line up was minimal.
Louve. Go to Eiffel Tower early, they shut down access to the top when we were there because of over crowding at the top.
Paris at night is amazing, make sure you go to the Eiffel Tower at night and wait for it to sparkle for you!
