I like the atmosphere around the pier. As you walk onto it there are tables to sit at and can walk around it if you want to. There are shops, a cafe, a pub enjoy a pint in the sunshine if you want to. As it was destroyed by a fire a few years ago it has now been designed around our safety when walking along the pier.
A shame got rid of established fishing shop on pier ….!!?? Always enjoyed visiting & seeing what was being caught... Its what sea-side visits are about ...local life & welcome - Always enjoy walk on pier - sea air/ snacks/tea etc ...
Great little pier. Very beautiful and ornate. I would give the ice cream place just at the entrance a miss. Saw staff mop outside the kiosk and and then go inside and immediately handle food without washing his hands! Put me off! The tea room is lovely and very ornate. Only wish they place some better music rather than rap as you had your tea. Basic tea starts at £3.95. Take tissue with you as the toilets was out both times I went.
Very nice and spacious, old-fashioned in its way with some lovely.little gift shops and arcades though many machines were out of use or broken. Lovely views of the sea and beach . Much nicer than Brighton pier and quieter too.
Plenty of things to do , and see great bar at the end of the pier , lovely Victorian tea room in the middle and shops , one which sells glass ornaments made on the pier another selling just about everything, then at the entrance you have an amusement arcade, fish and chip shop and ice cream shop and other amusement centres along the pier , and plenty of seating too, love it there
Clean n tidy. It needs a central seated glass deviding screen down its length on the seated area, for wind protection and protection from seagulls! There for it would need glass roofing along its length, same as Southwold pier.
I booked a 1 night stay at short notice and was extremely pleased with all aspects of my stay. The staff were all excellent and were very helpful in every way. The breakfast was spot on and the 15% discount in the bar downstairs went down a treat. The location is second to none being directly opposite Eastbourne pier. I would greatly recommend this hotel and will hopefully go back sometime soon.
I liked the close proximity to the Eastbourne Pier, as I took the bus from there to get to Seven Sisters. The city centre is also not far away from the hotel.
