Really nice if you are a history person. The views are amazing, the castle is beautiful. Some of the hallways are tight, so take a small bag if taking one. There are some rooms where you CANNOT take pictures or films like the Honours - Scottish Crown Jewels - but it is worth it as they are exquisite. The cafe/bistro next to the war memorial is lovely and the food is fantastic. They do afternoon tea.
Edinburgh Castle was absolutely awesome. The cannons and cannon balls were a sight to see. There were different levels where you could take photos way across the land. We also visited the war memorial.
I thing it's better to visit some other castles on a country side. Edinburgh Castle is beautiful from the outside but too cloudy inside. You can't feel the history of this place after another hour in a queue to the entrance and being stuck in the crowd inside
Scaffolding was coming down when we visited so it was very noisey and distracted from the whole experience. Cost of entering the castle was extortionate and would recommend a visit to Stirling Castle over this.
We thought it was fabulous . We had pre arranged disabled parking ,and collected our tickets .The staff were extremely helpful ,and accommodating. The staff went above and beyond their role to facilitate us . Edinburgh castle has something for everyone ,it’s a truly amazing place . Places to eat , drink , shop , relax, and so much to explore . Again the staff are helpful , and engaging re the history ,and very eager to please . I would definitely recommend Edinburgh Castle .
Lots of history and things to see. Spectacular view of Edinburgh from the Castle. We stayed over 3 hours but next time I'd like a local tour guide to tell me more about all the fantastic history about this place.
Edinburgh
we really liked the kitchen equipped with loads of utensils and washer/dryer, the style of the apartment was nice and was definitely liveable for a week. the shower was really big and had nice shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We were told we were welcome to order food that they would accept for us at the reception which are both positives to the experience! the staff were fairly friendly too. the property is right around the corner from plenty of shops and a brilliant view of edinburgh castle, it really was a lovely location!
Perfect location in the middle of old town. Amazing views of Edinburgh Castle & Grassmarket. Staff were friendly & always happy & willing to help. There was complimentary water (still & sparkling) available in room & at reception. Went during COVID & there was hand sanitizer dotted all around the hotel, staff practiced & enforced social distancing without being overbearing & ‘nagging’. Great one way system around the hotel which made you feel safe without pressure.
Old Town, Edinburgh
The location was perfect, 10 min walk to Edinburgh Castle, 5 min walk to Holyrood Palace. The room was way above my expectations, very clean and modern, very good size and everything I could possibly want in a room. Everyone that I met at the hotel was very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I would very highly recommend this hotel.
Prime City Centre location with incredible view of Edinburgh Castle. Very comfortable apartment well finished. We will definitely stay here again. Please note any potential guests, this is city centre location and there is therefore lively with people and traffic so you will get noise.
The location is amazing! The hotel is very close to the Edinburgh Castle as well as the Old Town. On the opposite of the hotel there are many shops (Sainsbury, Tesco), pubs, restaurants and take away. The room was clean with the good size bed that was very comfortable.
Very good location in the centre of Edinburgh, close the the "Edinburgh Castle". Very comfortable bed and the coffee machine was a bonus. It was good that we could park our car in the sister hotel as many places were shut due to COVID-19.
Excellent location, just a 5 minute walk to bars, restaurant and attractions. Great view of Edinburgh Castle from our window. The self-catering amenities in the apartment were excellent, everything you would need for your stay.
The receptionist was quick to respond to a small issue with room and upgraded me to higher floor with amazing view of Edinburgh Castle and Scott monument. A quiet comfortable room; quick elevator; very friendly staff.
Edinburgh
location is great within the old town of Edinburgh and very close to bus stations and around 10-15 minuted from Edinburgh Castle . The hotel is nice and clean.
Lovey breakfast with beautiful view of Edinburgh castle. Location of hotel spot on & amazing value - highly recommend 😆
Edinburgh Castle is the main attraction, along with various tours during the day and night.
We enjoyed Edinburgh castle very much and it was my second time . We were very lucky to have a lovely sunny spring day .
Edinburgh castle was a fantastic, day out for the whole family, grandparents, parents and children. Loads to see, very informative staff and lots to see and discuss. View fantastic. Tip, book ahead on line to save long queue (we actually did it while stood in queue)
