I always pay a visit to Harrods whenever I'm in London. This time, shopping was not as good as in the past, with many items (such as wines & spirits) costing more than what you can buy them for in other fine stores. The quality of the food in the Food Hall has deteriorated drastically. The quality of the roast chicken, sushi & oysters are all not what they used to be, and they are more expensive to boot. I was quite disappointed this time around.
A large, very old store in london, which has almost anything you can buy instore,it is a bit pricey, and it does have some lovely items on display in the Windows, and also inside. Hi in and look at the big foodhall, where there are some big,and slightly different cakes on sale.
Harrods Ave. , (Brompton rd) has many other good places. Not just the world class museums but quiet corners, viz back of Brompton oratory church, V&A courtyard with paddling pool) & green area(almost a field) tacked onto Natural History museum.Don't miss the 350,000,000 dinosaur dump at front of Nat. History museum
If you like to have a look at all fashionable brands from all the world in one place, you must go to Harrods. It is a shopping heaven for all shopping maniacs. You will definitely enjoy it, wheather you buy or not.
Always fabulous for lunch in the food court (love the roared chicken). Pick up great gifts in the food halls and head upstairs at least to witness the masses spending away and the beauty of the building.
An attractive, High class department store that gets way too busy and there appears to be no control of pedestrian traffic. Unnecessarily pretentious amongst staff members putting you off wanting to shop there, even when you DO have money! There could do with a cocktail lounge and Soul/Gospel with a bit of light singing/entertainment to add that desired edge and make shopping more pleasurable.
Friendly and efficient welcome and very accommodating with leaving luggage on final day after we checked out. Nice upgrade to suite which was handy for in room breakfast. Excellent location as it’s really quiet but right near museums, Harrods and tube.
Location was great !! So close to Hyde Park, perfect for touristy bits as well like to Harrods, and South Kensington. Close to undergrounds as well which is super helpful! Lovely room, comfy beds and lovely staff.
The location of the hotel is great. Very central for shopping on Sloane Street or Harrods.
It was close to The museums and Harrods
There are many small shops to explore, but Harrods is the most amazing! You can spend the entire day there and probably not see it all. There are plenty of places to eat along the way too! You can have proper tea there as well in a very sweet little room (literally sweet ... full of sweets and very feminine looking!) Harrods will have everything you need!
It has all the usual chain store shops plus lots of other unique shops, eg Harrods and hamleys.
Choice of shops from main stores, High Street brands to boutiques and quirky markets selling all sorts - Harrods etc.
Harrods us a must, afternoon tea in the restaurant was a special treat!
Harrods in particular is a shop that has to be visited. Something for everyone's taste for people of all ages
Everything is available in London's great shopping streets and world famous major stores - Harrods - Fortnum & Masons - Selfriges and others
