I always pay a visit to Harrods whenever I'm in London. This time, shopping was not as good as in the past, with many items (such as wines & spirits) costing more than what you can buy them for in other fine stores. The quality of the food in the Food Hall has deteriorated drastically. The quality of the roast chicken, sushi & oysters are all not what they used to be, and they are more expensive to boot. I was quite disappointed this time around.
A large, very old store in london, which has almost anything you can buy instore,it is a bit pricey, and it does have some lovely items on display in the Windows, and also inside. Hi in and look at the big foodhall, where there are some big,and slightly different cakes on sale.
It can get really busy so best to visit first thing in the morning, or as we did, later on not too long before closing. Treat yourself to a luxury hot chocolate at the Godiva cafe and be sure to take home some delicious loose leaf tea from the food halls.
Unless you won the lottery,or you have that special black credit card ,its great for window shopping but to buy a keepsake and leave with that iconic green bag head for the gift shop .You can also have afternoon tea here and please visit the food hall on the lower floor ,the cakes and biscuits are delish a nice treat.
Harrods Ave. , (Brompton rd) has many other good places. Not just the world class museums but quiet corners, viz back of Brompton oratory church, V&A courtyard with paddling pool) & green area(almost a field) tacked onto Natural History museum.Don't miss the 350,000,000 dinosaur dump at front of Nat. History museum
Harris’s has been ruined. It is no longer a charming tradition. The guards at the pricey jewelry shops are off putting. There are too many little food areas to eat at. It makes it seem like Eataly in the US. Having all the Harrods commercial stuff in one section with blaring music cheapens the idea of buying something with harrods name on it.
There are many small shops to explore, but Harrods is the most amazing! You can spend the entire day there and probably not see it all. There are plenty of places to eat along the way too! You can have proper tea there as well in a very sweet little room (literally sweet ... full of sweets and very feminine looking!) Harrods will have everything you need!
It has all the usual chain store shops plus lots of other unique shops, eg Harrods and hamleys.
Choice of shops from main stores, High Street brands to boutiques and quirky markets selling all sorts - Harrods etc.
Harrods us a must, afternoon tea in the restaurant was a special treat!
Harrods in particular is a shop that has to be visited. Something for everyone's taste for people of all ages
Everything is available in London's great shopping streets and world famous major stores - Harrods - Fortnum & Masons - Selfriges and others
