Located in the coastal town of Paignton, at the heart of Torbay and the English Riviera, this Victorian seaside hotel offers free WiFi, free parking, excellent cuisine, comfortable accommodation,... Hotel was in a great position next to Goodrington Sands. Breakfast and cleanliness were very good.
Not happy, the pier's slot machines seemed rigged and many people I spoke to there thought the same. The beach parking is not clearly marked and when I thought I was ok to park with no charge after 6pm I found a warden putting a ticket on my car at 8pm telling me the sign referred to the yellow marked zones. I could of parked on a single yellow in an inconvenient place for free but park sensibly and get a ticket. Paignton was full of money grabbers and was a complete rip off, my advice would be go to Brixham, Torquay or any other beach along that coastline.
Cleaner than Torquay beach although parking is a problem as there are only 2 disabled spaces Torquay and Paignton beech areas could do with taking over as there is a lot of seaweed on the beaches As stated if you're disabled you will have a long walk to the beach in Teignmouth
The beachfront is good and its little harbour is worthwhile visiting. I would also recommend the nearby beaches at Meadfoot Torquay, Goodrington sands, and the lesser known Broadsands ideal for families and dogs.
Parking is immediately in front of the beach ideal for families with small children with lots of baggage pranks etc. Get there early and this shouldn’t be a problem to get parked although we never had a problem outside of the holidays
We didnt visit Paignton for the beach as we are not beach lovers. Would be unfair to rate it poorly so we gave an "ok" rating. We visited the Harbours, Marinas and other small interesting places in the region. Theres plenty of them.
Delicious, hot cooked breakfasts every morning with a great selection of food and drinks. A big warm welcome from the owners and genuine care taken by them to ensure we had an enjoyable stay including some great advice from them regarding local attractions and events. A lovely couple, running a beautiful guest house located literally a minute's walk from Paignton beach and pier. Also, free parking was provided for the duration of our 3 night stay which was a bonus as not all places offer this. Highly recommend!
The breakfast was lovely. We ticked what we wanted every evening and it was spot on every day. Even my toast was cooked well as requested. And the egg was runny! Very nice friendly place and only down the road from the beach. Only downside was Paignton beach didn’t allow dogs at the time we visited but that’s no reflection on the Guesthouse. We will stay again
Breakfast was exceptionally good and the staff made great efforts to accommodate my gluten free wife. Staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful. The room was large and clean and the other facilities certainly met with our approval. Car parking available and also plenty of street parking. Only 3 minute walk to Paignton beach and harbor
The owners were lovely and very helpful. The hotel is a stone's throw from Paignton beach front and well situated for visiting tourist spots in Devon. The bed was very comfortable and we had an air con unit in the room which came in very useful.
Hotel beautifully clean & great hospitality. Dog friendly beach at Goodrington just 10 mins from hotel Paignton beach within good walking distance 15 - 20 mins Lovely restaurant near the harbour Surrounding Area kept very clean
The hosts are wonderful and very helpful. The location is perfect. Walking distance to both Paignton beach and Goodrington beach. Great views.
