The bus station is located a 25 minute walk from the centre of Zadar. When you first arrive with no maps available it is very difficult to find your way to your accommodation, Google maps is confusing and street names difficult to locate. Information about bus timetables is non existent , except on line and buses arrive with only a final destination marked so any stops along the route are not marked.
Easy to use. Everyone speaks very good English. Just ask! Can leave luggage, small case 50p per hour. Buses to airport about hourly, £3 per person. Taxi £27. Buses to Nin, skradin, and all over Croatia. Can fly into Zadar and go anywhere.
Fairly grotty place. No decent cafes. We did however find a McDonald's next to the bus station which was much cleaner. We never use McDonalds but found this to be a nicer option than than what could be found the bus station!!
It's ok, I've seen better. Definitely more seating places should be installed outside. It is a bit hard to find WC, which is right next to Tisak kiosk, it is underground so there are lots of stairs and you have to pay 3 kunas to enter. (I didn't have any change on me and the lady let me in anyway, so kind ! And she even watched over my suitcase while I was down there.) Drinks are quite expensive at the bars there, but fast food Nana is the best, delicious burgers, should definitley give it a try!
Nothing more grumpy than a Croation bus man - its like they go on courses to be rude! Ask as many questions as possible, they do not volunteer information, in a hurry ? Try to GET THE DIRECT BUS! Top tip, expect rudeness, enjoy it - and best of all, make sure you kill them with kindness and politeness, it confuses them and makes them realise they are being rude!
Buses are extremely unreliable, get there very early if you are getting a bus to the airport as times can change and buses to the airport can be infrequent. We got a return bus from Zadar to Split. On both journeys the bus ran 2 hours later than scheduled on the timetable, despite the fact we did not met traffic. Bus drivers and workers were unpleasant. Also please be aware that it costs 7 Kuna extra to store each item of luggage on the bus.
The location of the apartment was quite close to the Zadar Bus Station, which was convenient for us. The staff Sanja warmly welcomed us and helped us check in. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable letting us slept so well.
