The people selling bus tickets and supposedly there to give information are rude and not helpful at all! The guy at the information desk was busy in his phone and didn't acknowledge me standing there. He looked up from his phone, after about 5 minutes, stood up, closed the window and walked away! Absolutely rude and disrespectful! The lady we bought the bus tickets from just grunted when asked questions and didn't smile once! The worst customer service I've ever encountered! Not a great way to generate tourism or revenue for a place that needs it!!!
Drivers dont speak much English & get flustered. An airport shuttle driver was spectacularly badly behaved & tried to leave a potential bus load of tourists because we'd had the cheek to stand waiting to board the wrong side of his bus! And if you really want to catch a bus - have the decency to turn up ahead of departure time & buy your ticket at kiosk before boarding the bus - Don't make the drivers any more intolerant of us than they already are!!
During high season: come at least half an hour before your intended departure as queues grow quickly. Online reservations for a particular bus/bus time do not guarantee a seat at all as you have to join the queue anyway and when the bus is full it leaves, with or without you.
Located by the Port of Dubrovnik. Taxis to the old town 15 Euro. I walked along side the boats in the Port, up and over the hill with fantastic views to my accomodation within the Old City Walls, about a mile, 30 mins
- Location: 10min walking distance from Dubrovnik Main Bus Station: only 15min bus journey (not sure the time required during peak season) already sent me to Pile Gate. Super convenient especially for non-drivers! - Comfort: Travelling to Switzerland, Slovenia & Croatia for a month, and I had best sleep on the bed of Apartment Cime. The apartment is big with a well-equipped kitchen. - Host: Vinko is nice and very helpful!
