Only 5 mins walk from where we were staying and so well organised. It's a must to have good walking shoes and water with you as you can walk for ages up and down and around the lakes, I love the convenience of using entrance 2 .
Magnificent nature walk. Very crowded at some places despite expencive tickets. We reserved our tickets through hotel, but had to pay at the hate 2. The ticket issuing person could be more friendly 😐.
If you are travelling by bus from Zagreb or Split/Zadar/Sibenik to Plitvice it is important to note that the hotels are adjacent to Entrance 2 which is a couple of km from Entrance 1. It is not immediately obvious at the Park Entrances which stop to get off the bus at (especially if coming from Zagreb).
While the park recommends that you buy the entry tickets 2 days in advanced using their online system, you can most likely get your tickets at the entrances if you forgot to get their organised earlier.
Buy the Map, it's only 20 kunas. It will tell you all the Routes and everything you need to know. The "Bus/Train" departs from near Entrance 2 to other parts of the Park. Check the Map. The staff in the TIcket Office was friendly, as we exchanged our online voucher for teh actual ticket. The Cafe onsite has very little selection of food but okay for a coffee and strudel (the only sweets they seem to have!).
Take a pack lunch. Good camera. Good walking shoes. Don’t expect any help from people who work there. Do the big water fall first then do main lake. If you have trouble walking it will be hard as the paths are very uneven. Don’t take pram.
