A real "must see", especially during the evening - fantastic atmosphere. Very old and well preserved. Takes you back to the olden days. No wonder this place is picked for making so many movies, old and new.
The Main Street of the old town is very pretty, but also make sure you lose yourself down some side streets, and wear comfortable shoes as you will find a lot of steep steps, but the climbs are worth it.
The Stradun is one of the most impressive streets I have been to in Europe, but its very hot during the day and packed with coach trips or cruise ship tourists. It's much better in the evenings when the hoards have gone and you can sit down to a nice meal or drink and soak up the atmosphere. It worth climbing the steps up towards a lovely restaurant called PiPi and take in the view over the town. One thing about Dubrovnik is there are a lot of steps up and down so if you're not steady on your feet or reasonably fit you will struggle to get around to see the best of this lovely town in the heat. It's a photographers dream with great shots around every corner. Food and drink can be quite expensive for us brits now the pound has taken a dive so expect to pay at least £50.00 for two for a fairly basic meal.
In the evening after 4pm the cruise ship tourists go home. Much quieter. When you pass through the the Plei Gate you can buy very reasonable ice creams from the first ice cream shop on the right and they are huge
Go in the morning before 9 am n feel the majestic presence of the wall n the enclosed calm it gave to those within its embrace. Walk up one of the steps in the many side alley. Get a great view before heading to one of the best restaurant for freshly grilled food-Lady Pi Pi.
Although it is a great place to see it is not very good for anyone who has problems walking as the roads are cobbled and slippery. There are hundreds of steps to climb to get to many of the restaurants and some of the shops
EXCELLENT LOCATION - right off the main walking street (Stradun)! And easy to find with the hosts' very thorough instructions. Getting into the apartment was super easy as well - I received instructions on how to open the keybox a few days before my arrival, and had no issue accessing the apartment. While small, the unit is perfect for one traveler, and was perfectly stocked with drinks (two waters, juices, wine, coffee). Everything was newly renovated and cutely decorated. Would stay here again if I'm ever back in Dubrovnik.
80s Dubrovnik is a great value-for-money apartment that is clean, comfortable and conveniently located just off The Stradun (Main Street) in the Old City. Directly opposite is D'Vino, a great wine bar, and Glam Beer Therapy, a great specialty beer and coffee shop, is immediately next door. But there are many great restaurants, bars and cafes very close by. Ivo, the host, was most friendly and helpful, and was able to arrange a car to the airport at a very reasonable rate (and for very early in the morning - 4:15am!).
Sergio was an excellent host, he arranged for transport from the airport and met us at Buza gate to guide us to the property. The apartment was tastefully furnished with quality furniture and in a central location to bars and restaurants and Stradun. There are a lot of steps but that is what makes Dubrovnik, just make sure you wear flat shoes. I would highly recommend this property.
Everything was great, we arrived early and could leave our bags there even before the check in time. Karla helped us with everything, she’s great with communication. The villa’s location couldn’t be better, a minute walk from Stradun, yet in a calm residential area. Everything was clean and cozy, wifi worked well, we even could watch netflix. Recommended, great value for money.
Tomi’s apartments at Mali Stradun are excellent. Tomi is really friendly and super helpful. The apartment is in a great location with all the tasteful furnishings and facilities to be a home from home plus the added benefits of the use of the hotel pool and breakfast buffet. Shops near by, Lapad and Old Town a short taxi ride away. A great base for a stay in Dubrovnik.
Everything was perfect for me and my wife from the first day until the last one. Small apartment but it has everything you need, nice shower, fridge, AC, tv, enough place to leave your stuff also. Romana was really nice, explained all there is to find in the old city and location itself is amazing, less than 30 seconds and you are at the main street Stradun.
Very clean and new, location in the heart of the Old Town, near main street Stradun. Our hosts were very helpful. I've talked with host mostly over the phone because of the corona situation. In apartments doorway is key box and a lot of disinfectant.
This apartment is absolutely in the center of everything, mere steps away from Stradun, the main street of old town. The apartment is comfortable and stylish with all the necessities. It is perfect for one or two tourists.
Excellent apartment in a great location, few steps to Stradun. Everything was superb. Great host. We will be back for sure. Top recommended.
Perfekt stay, just down the stairs and you are in front of the gate to “Stradun”, very clean, nice host
