A fantastic blend of Roman and medieval history in one place. The tombs and gravestones are fascinating and beautifully decorated, with wall murals to enjoy too. Well worth the 6 euro entry fee - I preferred it to the cathedral or the tower!
This complex gets easily overshadowed by its neighbours and overlooked by turists. But don't be easily fooled. It's the home of the most amazing frescos left from the Ranaissance. The site was badly damaged during WWII and the essential restoration works have only recently been completed on most walls, so that we can see these masterpieces again.
