Much better than Pompeii. Smaller and quieter but better preserved and a good half day wander means you can see it all. Take snacks as there’s no cafe only a vending machine. Great little book/gift shop. Kids under 18 go free and EU citizens 18-24 are discounted. Get the guided tour as the explanations of how the people lived really bring home life in a first century Roman town.
Incredible. Dont book a tour before you go pay at the entrance and leave yourself a good 3 hours to stroll round and take it all in. A lot of the internal features are a lot better preserved than in Pompeii.
The real ones are better than the "virtual" ones. The site is quieter and smaller than Pompeii but contains many of the elements you want to see. Without the hoardes of people you can get closer to the archeology for photographs etc. If you don't have much time, see these.
Very well preserved ruins of the old Roman town ... we paid extra for an English guide and thought it was worth it, as we got a lot of good info' ... Was fascinated to discover, that only a quarter of the old town has been excavated. So likely there are many archaeological treasures waiting to be discovered. However may never be brought to light, as the remainder is now buried under a busy and bustling suburb of Naples. If visiting in high summer, take water and a hat. NB: have been told, it's better preserved than Pompei
It’s a charming historical building just 10’ mins away from the Ercolano ruins. Perfect spot for a budget stay between Naples and the Coast towns. There is the possibility to park inside the property at an additional cost. Domenico is always available and there are shops and a pastry just in front of the property.
