Set in a 19th-century building in Rome’s centre, Chapter Roma is a 5-minute walk from Campo de' Fiori square, and just 900 metres from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona square. Great location. Walking distance to major Rome tourist attractions.
Impressive, especially the Capitoline Hill, but unless you have a strong imagination, you're going to struggle see it as it was. Personally I found more impressive the Trajan Museum (will have no lines) of which much more is left. Also, you can climb through it. Kids can run around a bit. Does involve a lot of steps.
The historical center of ancient Rome. Actually a series of forums (government buildings + markets + religious temples), in part built by Julius Cesar, along with the emperors who succeeded him. Julius Cesar himself was cremated there, and there's a spot marking the apotheosis of Romulus, the founder of Rome who slew his brother for sacrilege. While there, don't miss Trajan's Column, memorializing in great detail his conquest of Dacia (now Romania). These forums are a short stroll to the Colosseum and Palatine Hill (both worth visits).
This is bigger than it looks, plenty of history, if you take the time to read the signs and notices around. It can get very hot walking around and up to Palletine Hill is not for the weak. It’s very strenuous, brilliant views at the top though, if you make it that far!
Absolutely amazing!!! In winter try and do a guided tour earlier as a late one lasting an hour will mean you will have no time to self exploreand you will regret it! Definitely do a guided tour though or atleast audio gudied tour. If possible to the collosseum and this on separate days but on the same days even it ll be ok if short for time
You can see virtually all that you need to see from the surrounding roads and pathways. Entrance to the Forum is not cheap, and there is a Forum-employed official who tries to direct queuers to the highly expensive guided tours. To this end, he derides the audio-guides as being 'useless'. We decided to give the whole thing a miss.
For history and literature buffs, this is the place where it all happened. Centrally located to the Coliseum, Trajan's Column, the Wedding Cake and museums and many other attractions. Watch out for the itinerants and illegal immigrants - no matter what story they spin, all they want is your money. Be firm and say NO, always.
Gianicolense, Rome
Marco was exceptional - he helped us secure on street parking, he advised on which superb local restaurants to eat at, told us which trams to take, he made a booking for a tour of the Roman Forum and gave us a bottle of red wine as a farewell gift. We felt like honoured guests. The super breakfast was prepared every morning fresh and delivered to our room. The location in the Trastevere district was very central - an easy walk to the river, and the #8 tram was directly opposite the rooms.
Rione Monti, Rome
Lorenzo was a great owner, he was very informative and friendly, the rooms was cleaned every day with fresh towels provide, the breakfast was brought to our room every morning at whatever time was convenient for us. The hotel location is perfect for the main sites of the roman forum, palatine hill and Colosseum only 5 min walk away. The streets behind the hotel are also full of bars and restaurants where both tourists and locals mingle (socially distanced in these COVID times).
Central Station, Rome
The Coliseum and the roman forum are really close (20 min by foot, or you can take a bus or the subway to get fast to the city center). The apartments are clean and well equipped, the ventilators are a very good help in hot summer days. Also the staff is really nice and helpful. Leaving our luggage for the whole day on the check out day was not a problem.
Rione Monti, Rome
The location is exceptional - 3 minutes to either the Colleseum or the Roman Forum. Alessandro couldn't have been more helpful getting settled in. The room was spacious and as clean as you'd want it to be. The bathroom was well appointed. I would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone.
Location was amazing very close to Colesseum and Roman Forum. Monti District was very vibrant plenty of places to eat. Staff at hotel exceptionally friendly. Breakfast served on roof terrace Lorenzo very attentive and super friendly. Would definitely return!!
Excellent breakfast with the view. Hotel is in walking distance from Roman Forum, Colosseum and other must see things in Rome so you don't need to use public transport. Staff is exceptionally friendly and they are willing to help and assist.
Rione Monti, Rome
Really nice district with lots of bars and restaurants, and Colloseum, Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia really close! The accommodation is a cozy lovely studio, with all you need inside. Cavour metro station is like 20 meters from the doorway.
Rione Monti, Rome
The location was excellent, a short walk from the colloseum and the roman forum. The staff were really flexible and allowed us to check out late on our departure date which allowed us to spend the whole day enjoying Roma!
Pre-book tickets to the Vatikan (guided tour to see the high lights recommended) and tickets to the Colosseum. These can also be bought at the entrance to Forum Romanum (shorter line).
Nothing beats the ruins of the Roman Forum where the ancient Romans once trod.
Capitoline museum has a roof top café with fantastic views- also on another level there is a panoramic view of the roman forum - both worth the entry fee!
Vatican City and if you can use your imagination the the Roman Forum
Visit the Forum and walk down Fori Imperiali in the evening - amazing.
Buy the ticket for Colloseum at the enterence to Forum Romanum and Palatin, you will avoid giant line (3 attractions cost altogether 12 euro)! FAst track ticket for the VAtican Museum is also good idea (we did it), you can buy at the enterence to the St. Peter's Basilic. It is quite expensive, but it helps you to avoid huge line and to see both attractions during one day.
