We happened to be at the Leaning Tower just before 10pm and got tickets for walking up with no queue. Worth trying at this time if you didn't manage to get tickets during the day (it closed at 10pm when we were there in August 2019).
The leaning tower is, well, leaning.. great to see this iconic landmark, but not sure it is worth paying €18 to go up it. I preferred the view from the ground. I recommend visiting at night when it was cooler and less crowded, but beautifully illuminated.
It was good to see such a famous building. The buildings surrounding the tower including the cathedral are beautiful (we only had chance to see it from the outside.) It was surprisingly crowded near the tower despite it being a Monday evening (6.30 p m) in April.
Wear flat shoes. We went along early as we hadn’t booked and got tickets for entry at 9:45 which was great, we literally walked from ticket office, took some photos, placed our belongings in the lockers provided and were literally the 3rd and 4th in the queue!
It does state on your ticket to get to your designated time early to climb the Tower. Please heed this advice as you have a few minutes walk to an area to leave your bags etc in a locker. Sensible shoes and a camera are a must. Enjoy!
Again, an item on my bucket list. However I found the Cathedral and Baptistery much more interesting. Beware that there are many areas with restricted parking. Leave your car on the outskirts and avoid a possible $400 fine.
What a fab hotel and so so clean. The two guys that ran the hotel were so friendly and went above and beyond what was expected. The room was beautiful and the breakfast was a great selection and everything was made fresh for you. It was a really good location, 7 mins from Pisa airport and we were in the heart of the main street, so very close to restaurants and a short walk to the leaning tower of pisa.
The location of the hotel was great - right on the door step of the leaning tower of Pisa with lots of restaurants near by. The hotel was very clean & room was spacious and comforatable. The reception were staff most helpful arranging an early flight taxi for 5am and ensuring that we got in the right taxi at that time.
It is just down the road from the leaning tower of Pisa, a five minute stroll and you're there. The comfort of the beds was really good, a great nights sleep which may not be so rock and roll , but I was sorry to leave the hotel. From my experience I would recommend this hotel for price , location and bed comfort .
The location was excellent. Hotel and room was very clean and tidy. You could see a clear view of the leaning tower of Pisa from our rooms balcony. Mr Luca the owner was very polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again. Thank you Mr Luca.
Everything was wonderful - the design of the hotel, great view from balcony, receptionist brilliant, very helpful. Close to the leaning tower of Pisa and close to restaurants/shops. Thank you very much for the gorgeous time we spent in your hotel!

This hotel had the best location, right beside the leaning tower of Pisa. The rooms were spacious. Good value for money.
You can book tickets ahead for the Leaning Tower of Pisa - we bought tickets at the booking office to go up the tower for the following day. They are sold in blocks and in August you can book for times running well into the evening (we did 7.30pm) when it is a little cooler!
