Ignore all the hawkers trying to sell you a tour. Download Rick Steve's app on your phone. It's the best! He's got most of Rome covered and he does a great job. You can be on your own and learn everything. No need for a guide!
Very grand from the outside .Queues are long especially in hot weather would recommend a guide loads around the square try to barter with them for a good price.Inside I was disappointed didn’t feel the way I thought I would feel from other smaller and less grand churches around Italy and beyond .Hard to take in the unnecessary grandeur ,to me it defeated the whole purpose of why I went but from a historical point of view I might like it
Use the Omnia/Roma Pass, book an entry time and book a guided tour for the Vatican Museum. Booking the guided tour will save you hours of standing in line and get you to the most important highlights through the enormous crowds! It will also get you directly into the Basilica right after the Sistine Chapel. It was a great value and literally saved us hours!
Love this place. This was my second time here, I feel blessed. Definitely go to the mass at 10.30am on Sunday. Arrive around 30min before to have a seat. The mass is in the back of the major altar, in front of San Pedro altar.
Queue is very very long, standing for a long time with my bad aching Knees can't believe that I still have to queue with the others that doesn't have any Letter from Papal Household. I was adviced in the letter from Perfecture of the Papal Household to go to the Bronze Door to collect my Free Tickest for the General Audience- Wednesday and for the Sunday Mass. But with such a massive queue painfully I have decided not to go it is a ridiculous long queue, securities again is very disorganised!!!!!
Amazing place to be. Make sure to climb upto the dome, it's worth it. We also bought a skip the line from one of the booths nearby. Although it is free to visit, the ones were long and we don't want to stand that long in the sun
The guest house is nice and clean. What I like about the place is it’s a walking distance to St. Peter’s Basilica and Vatican Museum. It’s also accessible to metro and buses going to other tourist spots. The staff are also nice, they respond quickly when you have some concerns. I really did the right choice on choosing the guest house. If ever I will be back in Rome, I would love to stay there again.
