Worth a visit but make sure you pre-book your tickets, as this is a very busy attraction and you must be agile enough to be able to climb narrow stairs definitely worth a visit but very humbling where the family had to live in secret.
An absolute must when visiting Amsterdam. The talk before entering the museum was excellent - very informative. Walking through the house gave such a sobering experience of what it must have been like for the Franks.
We enjoyed a very moving visit to Anne Frank house. You don't have to read her diary before you go, as there is plenty of information on signs and on the audio guide you can use. However, you'll gain more from the visit if you have read her diary. It's important to book tickets online to ensure you can visit when you wish, because only a certain number of tickets are sold at the door, and you'll cue for a long time for them, especially in high season. The hiding place and museum are well presented.
We could not go in as there were no tickets available & in future I think it is better if you have more tickets available for guests by shortening the time inside the museum. So this way you can give more access to people & at the same time more tickets can be sold.
I went to Amsterdam (finally) in summer and lines were crazy, even with advanced bookings. As an American (English major/Teacher) I read the Diary many times, so Anne Frank House was a must. . . even if it's a quick walk through with a long line (of friendly people).
Book early! We did the first tour at 8:45am and it was well worth getting up early for. Amazing tour and at that time it was calm and not rushed. Big queues when we left. Don’t forget to boo online in advance up to 2 months before your trip. Very unlikely you will get a ticket on the door!
Superb service, from moment of booking, dealing with enquiries, helping me out with a wee favour as it was my other half's birthday treat. Lovely room, clean, excellent breakfast (fresh bread brought to door daily due to covid closing breakfast room), best shower ever I have had on holiday. top notch. close to dam square, right next to anne frank house, loads of eateries nearby, supermarket just up road, pancake house underneath. could life be any better? plus the stairs are a great way of burning off some calories.
I spent 3 days at this cozy apartment with a friend of mine. It‘s located perfectly in Jordaan, which is the most beautiful area we‘ve visited in Amsterdam. There are so many cute cafés or restaurants just around the corner, the Anne Frank House is also only 5 minutes away. But also Willi‘s engagement is worth mentioning - not only he has helped us with finding cheap parking possibilities, also the whole apartment was filled with food, coffee, etc. We can only recommend the apartment and will definitely come back!!
Due to covid, the main hotel was closed for renovations but the hotel upgraded us (free of charge) to its apartments located just next door with a view of the canal. The location of the hotel is centrally located within walking distance to all of the main sites (Dam Square and De Wallen, Museumplein, and the Anne Frank House), and just a few minutes walk to Rembrandtplein with TONS of dining options. The view from apartment 893 was simply stunning.
The room was absolutely gorgeous. The interior design used here was of a very high standard. Everything was so well thought out!. Great location close to Anne Frank house, trams and canal cruise boats, also bars and cafes. Highly recommend.
For the Anne Frank Huis - be prepared for long queues, get a special ticket or book in advance. My friends and I waited in line for over 2 hours - during a heat wave, no less! There are a few things to do while you wait, that is, if someone can hold your place in line. You can go and take a look at the original front of the house, and the view of Prinsengracht is very nice. There are also a couple of souvenir shops that serve cold drinks and snacks, as well as a bathroom, to the left of the queue. Also, the nearby LGBT tourist information booth sells really pretty postcards.
Rijks museum, Van Gogh museum , Anne Frank house
Get to places as early as you can. We went to Anne Frank House at 9 and we only had to wait for 45 minutes.
Reiksmuseum & Van Gogh Museum (timed tickets are available to purchase at a kiosk outside the entrance to the Reiksmuseum to avoid the long queues) Anne Frank House ( expect long queues)
Canal Tours, Amsterdam Museum, Fine Art Museums, Anne Frank House
