Prinsenhuis is situated in the heart of historic Amsterdam city centre on the famous Prinsengracht canal. Perfect location to visit Amsterdam by walk, very nice welcoming and a host always available
Leidseplein has alot to offer, not only is the famous Bull Dog coffee shop there but there are also a few night clubs and shopping strips that wont dissapoint. Its possible to walk from here to central station. Its possible to walk all over Amsterdam, thats one of the best things about this city, the ease of getting around whether on foot or by public transport. I recommend buying a 7.50 transport card and if you are staying more than 3 days... its alot cheaper using public transport that way.
Lots going on up there ,river cruises etc ,can catch a bus there 397 to the a/port and then change to anther bus for kuekenhof , much quicker and easier than going down in the city and cheaper as well
Vibrant and lively. Fantastic restaurants and everyone makes you feel very welcom. Visit Casa di Sergio for delicious and very reasonably priced Italian food and the De Blauwe Hollander, a Dutch restaurant, the hutspot dish is my favourite.
Went into Irish Bar Dan Murphys for breakfast. Was told they didn't do breakfast, then asked for recommendation of where else to go in Leidseplein . Actual response was 'nowhere, the whole area is shite' .. not very nice people in this bar 😡. Had a lovely breakfast in Cafe Mokkum I think it was called just a couple of doors away
Very vibrant, touristy area - A bit of a "Brits Abroad" sort of area, but a beautiful square that notwithstanding. A good place to start from if looking to shop a little on your way up towards Dam square.
Places charge over and above for bottled water which from the places I've been to is the only thing available and you are not permitted to drink your own bottled water at the venues if you request to.
Prinsen hotel offered us an amazing stay in the heart of Amsterdam. The location is perfect, calm and quiet but at the same time in close proximity to Leidseplein and city centre. There are numerous shops, cafes, supermarkets and the necessary tram/bus stops nearby. The hotel itself was managed by very friendly hosts, who obliged all the rules of the current pandemic situation. The rooms were extremely clean with all the necessary amenities, it was warm and cosy. Bathroom was well equipped, towels changed regularly, plenty of hot water.
We were originally supposed to stay in the sister hotel on Haarlemmerstraat but due to refurbishment it got changed to this hotel, but it was just as good if not a better location quiet on the hotel street but a minute walk to leidseplein Square which was always busy. We had a problem with our room as we needed three single beds but the guy at reception swapped our room no problem. The only problem we had was we came in a heatwave and the room was so hot but we didn't care it was nice to see sunny Amsterdam!
excellent location, it's very difficult to be closer to everything, there is even a nice supermarket just in front of the hotel. Wonderful historical hotel, its facade is a masterpiece, as well as the cafe. Very nice personnel, always ready to help. the bed is excellent and the bathroom is very fine. If you have a view on the river or the Leidseplein, you can have a very nice view (of course it can be noisy on the Leidseplein). Inside the room, nespresso and tea plus marshall bluetooth speakers.
Cant beat the location. Being only steps from the Vondelpark is great. Easy access to trams and busses too, and a short stroll from Leidseplein. This hotel has now become my new hotel of choice in Amsterdam because of the location, the access to the park, and the relative peace and quiet for such a central location. I don't need loads of facilities, just a comfortable bed and a good location, with a minimum of fuss. Great value for money too.
If you wish to experience the typical Dutch building with extremely narrow staircase and tiny-little rooms - that's the place to go. As for 1* it really exceeded my expectations. Very good location - ca. 8min from Centraal Station, 8 min. from Jordan (relatively cheap food/beer - when you compare to more tourist locations like Leidseplein/Rembrandsplein mot to mention RL area). Highly recommended.
Apartment was spotless, very modern and spacious. Beds were very comfortable and shower was great. The location was amazing, right next to all the bars and shops of Leidseplein but on a quiet side street, so there was no noise. Facilities in the apartment were excellent, very fast internet and great nespresso coffee. The host even kindly left us some wine and beers.
The beds are comfortable, amazing value for money. Decent continental breakfast with cereals, toast, fruit, etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is great, one minute from Leidseplein centre and right next to the beautiful Vondelpark. Would definitely recommend!
Great location between the Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein, 2 minute walk to Vondel Park. Direct at tram and bus, express bus to Schiphol. Comfortable room with many ammenities. Friendly and helpful staff. I would love to stay here again.
The price and location are perfect. The apartment is 2 minutes away from Museumplein and 5 minutes away from the Leidseplein. The apartment itself is on the P.C. Hooftstraat where the big fashion brands are located.
The location was excellent, a stone's throw from the edge of Vondelpark and a 5 minute walk to Leidseplein.
Everything is so close. We were walking all the time because the whole city is beautiful. Hotel is near Leidseplein and we went to Dam Square, Cetraal, Red Light District, Rijksmuseum, Flower Market...easy peasy.
Get on the Hop On/Off Bus in Leidseplein which takes you to all the tourist hot spots. Going to the museums are a must!
