This popular hotel is located only steps away from the flower market and Leidseplein. A typical Dutch breakfast with omelets and pancakes is served until 12:00 in the afternoon. Mike and staff run a great place. An accepting mixed group of lodgers. Very central to everything.
Superb collection. Buy your ticket online in advance, but if you can use your mobile phone, download the Rijksmuseum app instead of taking the multimedia device for €5. They've got the same content.
A great place to visit, especially if you like old dutch master painters and art. There are many wonderful exhibits of craftsmanship and history of the dutch golden age, and other exhibits from around the world.
We were disappointed to pay for a museum that heavily promoted a rare painting by Rembrandt only to not see the painting. The museum had a large piece of electronic equipment in front of the painting that was going to block the painting for 56 days. Just thought that should have been made known ahead of time to visitors during those 56 days.
I only managed to do the one floor, as there is loads to see, especially if art is your thing. The painting of the Night Watch and the other paintings of the various different watches had me memorised - the photographic like figures was pretty impressive. Would highly recommend this art display, but leave loads of time as there are three floors to explore
The interior and exterior of the building is awesome. Lots to see inside. You may go in & out with your ticket. So expect to spend at least half day there or more. Audio guide will give you direction to do so.
Map of museum is provided but no further signage, leading to a really chaotic & uninspiring museum. Headsets are old & NOT user friendly. We spent 30 minutes trying to figure them out before realizing they didn't work. Rembrandt exhibit is beautiful but there is no numbered path and people wander about in all directions. This is a HUGE museum which could take days to appreciate and we saw only a tiny part of it, but there are 7 entrances and no signs to tell you where to actually enter the museum or start your experience. A big disappointment.
Excellent location - Rijksmuseum & Van Gogh Museum only 10 minutes on foot, Albert Cuypstraat market and Heineken brewery within 5. Tram and metro stops to railway stations and other sights (royal palace, flower market) nearby, also grocery stores and a wide selection of restaurants. Although its window goes to the inner stairway, the room had enough natural light and was well ventilated. Bathroom is clean and cozy. Friendly staff.
The staff: very helpful and nice. The 24 hours reception. The location: subway station and tram stations within 3 minutes walking distance, and direct connections to the Amsterdam Centraal. Several grocery shops in the neighborhood, and the Rijksmuseum is about 500 m. The elevator: I didn't mind the steep stairs, but if you have heavy luggage, the elevator is more than useful.
Very nice experience, the staff is friendly and very helpful! The capsules are spacious and the bed confortable. The location is ideal, next to all major museums (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Stedeljk) , and a few tram stops away from the city centre. I would definitely stay here again next time I come back to Amsterdam, and recommend it.
Spent only one night here but will definitely come back since it is a very nice place to live when you are in Amsterdam: literally two steps from the Rijksmuseum. The rooms are very clean, and the beds are super comfortable. The breakfast is now takeaway because of COVID measures, nevertheless, it is perfect!
The location of this hotel is just perfect, next to Rijksmuseum! The room was very comfy and had everything we needed. Especially the bed was amazing. The bathroom was very small, but clean and comfy. Our room was overlooking the street with trams, but they didn't bother us at all. I recommend this hotel!
The location is perfect: very nice and quiet, just beside the Vondelpark, 5 minutes to tram stop and 15 minutes by foot to Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. The room was clean, the beds were comfy and the shower just great!
Location is perfect, close to Rijksmuseum. Canal right in front of the hotel. the room is large. good decoration.
I usually come here to the opera but there are plenty of nice things to do, such as visit museums, do the tour of the city by canal bus; my favourite quarter is around the Leidse plein. The Rijksmuseum is one of my best expériences and it is always a pleasure to visit this museum.
The newly renovated Rijksmuseum is great, its courtyard cafe exceptionally stylish, with good, fresh food and super service. Warning: the coffee is hyper strong!
Start with the Rijksmuseum as it has just finished a major renovation
Rijksmuseum for sure, and the Frans Hals in nearby Haarlem.

We were able to take photos in the Rijksmuseum provided we did not use a flash.
