Watch out for hidden extras on the bill when in the restaurants around the square, that only come to light when it arrives (bread, butter, tap water, nibbles etc sometimes arrive unasked for but touch them and you pay extra for them). DO do the Lisbon History, it is fascinating and friendly.

A lovely spacious square with people on their scooters.
A lovely spacious square with people on their scooters. It is located next to the sea with musicians around.
While having dinner at an Italian restaurant, we were happily surprised as there was a light projection show on the buildings in the square to commemorate the 1974 revolution that ended the dictatorship!

We stayed in the down town area of Lisbon near Commerce Square.
There are many places to eat to choose from.
I especially enjoyed all the street musicians and performers. From here there is excellent mass transportation from this area from and to Lisbon and beyond.

No one should visit Lisbon without knowing Praça do Comércio. One of most important points of the history of the city. However, there's a restaurant named Museu da Cerveja. I've eaten the worse Pastel de Bacalhau (fried coldfish) of the whole of my life.

Get the metro to Terrierio de paco and this is were you will find the Square . Loved this place and then travel by the new tram along the river Tagos - seeing lots of interesting historical places along the route. We saw a tram museum and some sort of presidential place which was guarded by the army. It took about 1 hour each way but well worth if you wanted to jump off.

Two-bedroom apartments-there is everything you need and even more. Very friendly, very caring host. He gave us so much information about the city that no problems with leisure could arise at all . And the "snack" that he left us when we checked in, we could not finish even for departure. :) Great location in the old town. Everything is very close: train station, metro, tram. Commerce square is a 10-minute walk away. We really liked it! And we hope very much to return here more than once. :)
