We took the subway across & walked across the bridge towards Manhattan as this gave us the best views. Loads of souvenir sellers. Mind you keep to the correct side of the walkway or you can clearned up by the cyclists if not.
Recommendation: cross the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhatttan to Brooklyn and turn left for Dumbo, to get exceptional views from the Manhattan bridge. Turn right to enjoy the skyline. On the way back, use the Manhattan bridge to cross from Brooklyn to Manhattan to enjoy even better views from the NY skyline, and you'll land right in Chinatown! :)
I've walked across the bridge twice; once from Brooklyn into Manhattan and vice-versa. In my opinion, take the walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan. There's less people on the pathway and the view walking toward Manhattan is so much better.
We got the subway to Williamsburg’s Dumbo area and got the East Ferry down to Wall Street. Passed below the bridge for good pics including skyline. From Wall Street it’s 15 min walk to Staton Island ferry.
Good views of manhattan from the bridge and also visit the Brooklyn park for good photo shots. If you want a peaceful walk across you will need to go before 7am. Anytime after this be prepared for it to be very busy.
Went relatively early in the day so there were not too many people. Liked taking the metro to Brooklyn and walking across to Manhattan to see the skyline. Short walk to Mot street and Chinatown, then up Mulberry street to Little Italy and into Soho
The reception staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming and it felt very safe and secure there. The area is very safe, if lacking in immediate amenities. I liked being close to navy yard, dumbo, brooklyn bridge all walking distance, or a short bus ride. It was quiet in the hotel, quite a family feel to it, and everything was clean. Also a very basic but inclusive breakfast if you wanted it. I liked it!
We arrived from Europe for a 5 day holiday and stayed at the Pod for one night. Very good location in Williamsburg/Brooklyn NY. 5 min Uber Taxi to the commencement of Brooklyn Bridge in order to take the walk over the bridge. The room was comfortable but small with 2 bunk beds. Ideal for a one night stay. There's a great little breakfast place just across from the hotel.
Excellent hotel, staff and location. Close to the subway, Smith Street with some excellent bars and restaurants and, Brooklyn Bridge is a short walk away. They left a bottle of wine and chocolates in the room during our stay as it was my birthday, which was a really nice touch! Can't fault it.
Good location, but we had higher hopes. You can walk to DUMBO and Brooklyn bridge. There is direct metro to Coney Island. Hotel overally was good. There is nice bar at the lobby. WiFi working as expected. Room was equipped with all you need + some exercise tools. Big bathroom.
The location is incredible - views over the Financial District, Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. The hotel is set back in a tranquil park and when the window is closed the room is completely silent. Bed was very comfy, rainfall shower excellent.
Location close to Manhatten but not at the stone pocket. Few pleasant restaurants and Dumbo area outside the hotel. Walking distance to Brooklyn bridge and Brooklyn park on East River. Nice area. 24 hours tea ,coffee , fruits free at the hotel.
The hotel was perfectly situated near several underground stations, making it easy to go anywhere in Manhattan. Also walking to Brooklyn Bridge was perfectly possible. The reception staff was very helpful and friendly.
Modern and comfortable hotel, with on various on site facilities. Very comfy room size for duration of the stay in NY. Easy walk to Subway, and locations such as Dumbo, Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge.
The location was excellent, we walked into Manhattan from the hotel across Brooklyn bridge or used the numerous metro stations. There were many places to eat close to the hotel.
One of the best walks is to do the High line which starts at The Standard Hotel. The Downtown bus tour is also excellent and you can hop on and off at your leisure to see many of the best spots. Would definitely recommend hiring bikes and cruising round Central Park. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge just to turn round and walk back to catch great views of the NY skyline.
Walk everywhere, especially at night! The is an evening aura at the Upper West Side, Highline Park, Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
