Hotel in Governors Island, New York
We probably didn’t do the museum justice as we were on a timescale. There was a lot of information to take in and we just wanted a flavour. Was interesting to be able to look up relatives who may have travelled through but unfortunately they weren’t on the list.
The staff member that assisted us in our research was very friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the audio presentations as well as the 30 minute documentary. To get on the island took a great deal of time. There were long lineups waits to get to the security point. The day we went was windy, cold and rainy. The cruise line staff was accommodating when it came to get my husband (in his wheelchair) unto the boat.
Very educational place and not enough time to see it all due to the limited amount of time you have for the ferry. It is a historical place that every American Citizen must visit to learn about the History of this country and be proud of USA. I learned soooo much! Will return to learn more....love it!
