Very nice Pier. Full of restaurants and shops. The quality of the restaurants there though is not always the best. You can look for the sea lions at the end of it. You will see them lying very close.
A bit commercial but good to go to. Reminded us years gone by when you went to the beach and could go buy souvenirs of your time there. Have food or ice creams while down there. Good place to go to as a visitor, holiday maker.
Pier 39 is free to get on but the shops and restaurants are expensive but its a tourist area so heh ho that's par for course. We love just wandering around and especially going to see the seals in the marina.
We got there at 10am and it was lovely and quiet. By 12pm it was very busy! The sea lions are great entertainment, we could have watched them for hours! The boat tour to the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz was excellent.
Full of food and souvenirs it's one of San Francisco's best know attractions. We had a walk around but didn't spend much time here, we found some of the other piers much more interesting with more to see and do. It's the pier where the seals are and where the blue and gold bay cruise leaves from which is a must do!
Obviously full of tourists (like us!) but we could have spent hours watching the sea lions....go during the day where the atmosphere is relaxed and family..This is also the departure (Gate J) for Adventure Cat tours of the Golden Gate Bridge (catamaran).
Bed was very comfy. Room was great, had queen room with fab views. Self serve breakfast which was adequate. Quite expensive for a hostel and shared bathrooms could do with a renovation. Towels were very small and smelt of bleach. Very good location for most things. We hired bicycles from close by and cycled the golden gate bridge to Sausolito. A day on the trams for ghiarardeli square which was near. Great food at fisherman's Wharf and pier 39 both walkable for us.
The hotel is situated in a great location being across the road from Fishermen's Wharf and less than 5 minutes walk from Pier 39. The hotel was basically clean and the maid service was adequate. There is a games room with pool, table tennis and the likes but the facilities are somewhat dated and it was closed to guests on a number of occasions due to private functions.
The area is good if you are by car. You can walk to the Fisherman’s wharf and pier 39 (half an hour or more) Next to the hotel Fillmore st. has many options for breakfast and dining. We just stayed for one night and the facilities were good.
The historical surroundings of the hotel make it a really interesting place to stay . The location is ideal for exploring San Fran city . The cable car from pier 39 stops right outside the door of the hotel - it’s just like in the movies !
You couldn't ask for a better location, just great. Easy access to Pier 39 and the wharf, public transport very close by. Everything you need is just there.
Very, very kind and helpfull staff. Beautiull place only few meters from the harbour and Pier 39. Big and delitious breakfast. Nice and modern hotel in Frisco
The hotel is situated right at one end of China Town. You can walk and explore China Town but also Pier 39 (Fishermans Wharf) is only a short 10 minute walk.
Close to attractions. Pier 39 etc. Good service from onsite staff.
Beautiful hotel, very close to union Square are Pier 39.
There are so many different parts to the city, with quirky places best found on foot - from walking along Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, to huffing and puffing up Hyde St to Lombard St for the view, then down the Crooked St, then round the streets of Chinatown with its unusual foods and cheap gift shops, down to Union Square expensive stores and restaurants - and of the course the famous cable cars, which you can get from Market Street. And why not try breakfast at Lefty O'Doul's in Geary Street, with lots of memorabilia around the walls about this famous baseball player, manager and coach - even if you've not heard of him (we hadn't!).
Friendly people, street entertainment, shops, great atmosphere at Fisherman's Wharf especially Pier 39.
Get up early (0700). We caught a cable car to Fisherman's Wharf and had it to ourselves. Most places not open but had breakfast at Denny's in the Holiday Inn. We hired a bike and cycled across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and got the ferry back.
San Francisco offers a diverse range of food. Great Italian food is available at North Beach (or Little Italy), local cafes situated through the city offer delicious brunch, huge range of seafood dishes at Fisherman's Wharf etc
