May only be of interest if you are from the West. If you are from South East Asia (SEA), its nothing that you do not have back home. Be prepared to be charged twice as much for most of your purchases. If you do not enjoy bargaining, it's a place you may want to skip. All branded products sold here are fakes.
Around the inner perimeter of the market are the Fixed Price Government run stalls. Same stuff, much cheaper but no haggling. I bought my t-shirts there and the lady helped me size them for my wife and six kids from photos and guess work. The conical Nong La hats they want VND100,000 for (after haggling) in the main area are VND 50,000, just to give one example. If nothing else, walk the fixed price stalls first and note the prices; then go and haggle.
Very rude people. Will not recommend to anyone. They will rip you off cause your foreign. Whatever the price is that you see its not true. Everything we bought whatever they said like 50k then when you walk away they change it to 25k! If you still dont but they will get aggressive if you walk away they will say bad things.you can buy cheap things if you know how to haggle.
Many typical souvenir stalls. However, at night there will be quite some apparel stalls or food stalls outside the market. Lights will be on at night during weekends. However, the front door is facing large Metro construction sites right now so must be very careful when taking photos.
Cheaper prices in the streets surrounding the market however with a good haggle theres still good value to be found..Remember that Louis Vuitton, Prada, YSL and Rolex dont sell in markets so its all hookie but great fun too.
Worth a visit but not good for buying. Quality is low compared to other markets, will often get fobbed off with items that won't last. Prices are hiked up massively because of sellers know it's only tourist that comes here. Try Saigon Square (very very closeby) for a better experience; or Taka plaza / Sense Market.
The Hotel is very conveniently located in District 1 just a few meters away from the Ben Thanh Market, which is the main market place in Ho Chi Minh. We were able to walk to most of the tourist highlights in the city from the hotel itself. There are two money exchange shops just a few steps away from the hotel which was very convenient as well. The breakfast buffet was just perfect! Offered a good variety of food. All in all I feel I was very satisfied with what I received for the price I paid.
The room was spacious. Clean. The hotel was 5 minutes walking distance to Ben Thanh market. Less than 1 minute to halal restaurants. They cleaned the room on the second day and provided fresh towels as well. The receptionist was helpful during the check out by calling the cab for us. The power plugs and sockets they have are compatible with Malaysian plugs so no need to bring universal plugs.
Good hotel, helpful and friendly staff. convinion place to go and see people activity here, good local foods, close to Ben Thanh market and Sai Gon river. We can see the city view from rooftop for Breakfat at day and at night. Easy to cat a car or motor bike, it near by the Green park also. I will be back again.
Location is perfect, just only a few minutes walking from Ben Thanh market. It's like a fully furnished apartment but without the kitchen, good decor (small TV), comfy bed. Good price for such a room right at the city central like this. Ok staff, friendly but only speak a little English.
Great hotel! Walking distance to Bui Vien street and Ben Thanh Market. Can also book great tours from the hotel to places like Me Kong Delta and Cu Chi Tunnels. Staff were helpful and friendly. Lovely views of the city up on the rooftop pool
Location is great and staff is very helpful whenever we needed help. The hotel is just located right in-front of the Ben Thành market. Will recommend anyone coming for the first time!
Taking only 10 minutes from the hotel to Ben Thanh market, so very convenient for walking and shopping. Hotel so good with enough all the facilities in the room. Good hotel.
I stayed one nights in this apartment. A nice room which I always stay whenever I am in Saigon. Very near to all places and Ben Thanh market. Lots of food outlet nearby.
Good choosing when staying in here. This hotel very near the Ben Thanh market, clean and good facilities in the room. Free car parking in here. Good comment.
If you decide to go to the Ben Thanh market, be prepared to have you bargaining hat on. Everyone is friendly but there's a lot of grabbing and there is no air conditioning so it can be a bit overwhelming. Be comfortable with the currency conversion too so you can definitely grab some real bargains on souvenirs to take home; especially things like coffee and decorative lanterns and furniture. Opposite the Ben Thanh market and opposite the HCMC Fine Arts Museum is a brilliant street to buy antiques.
Great choice at Ben Thanh market and higher end arts and crafts stores.
Eat where the locals eat. Get out of District 1. If you want to stay within District 1, check out restaurants behind Ben Thanh Market that display their menu with prices in front of their restaurants.
