Location, room, facilities, staff and superbreakfast (not cheap but it is worth the price). Ps. One day I inadvertently left the safe open, with all the money, cards and passport in it. The staff made up the room as usual and nobody touched anythings of our belongings. It meant much to us.

You’ll be hard pushed to find a better place to stay in Rio.

The unit is 16 km from Joao Havelange Olympic Stadium - Engenhao. Free private parking is available on site. I love this property the service + the staff of the condomínio + the local people. come every year back for a few months. My points go to Henrique always helpful.

High above Barra da Tijuca in a secure, private estate that was once owned by Pele, looking down on Pepe Beach (the nicest beach in Rio) and across to the Olympic Stadium. Fabulous sunsets. £6 in an Uber gets you to Copacabana, £2 to Pepe Beach, but get back for your own private dinner menu and two top class chefs. The day out with Fernando as our guide was the highlight, who installed his love for this city in us. The welcome and helpfulness of Leandro, Chefs Leo an José. Thanks guys.

Towels are offered. Beautiful view of the beach and ocean from the bedroom! Spacious accommodation with kitchen, workspace, living room with couch/TV - and comfortable bed. I loved it here and can't wait to stay again. Hostess was great and very communicative - will take care of any issue/question quickly should it arise. One block from the beach, several bars/restaurants and a high street.

We had a great meal at Bar do Minheiro (recommended to us by Adriana) and there was a wonderful roda de samba in one of the bars in the evening. Everything was perfect!

The B&B is located in the hills above Botofogo, which allows you to quickly reach all the areas of Rio. The neighborhood feels very safe, quiet and residential. Easy to walk down to Botofogo or to catch Ubers to other areas and sites. The room itself was very comfortable and clean, with a nice hot shower and good bed and pillows. Great breakfast each morning. After a day of exploring Rio it was great to come back home and relax in the hammocks, enjoying the mature trees and jungle-paradise feel of the property. We especially loved the friendly tortoise that liked to come over to visit!! You’re in great hands with your hosts and O Veleiro!

Joatinga Beach is only 200 metres from La Suite by Dussol, a charming guesthouse which boasts an exquisite infinite pool and is finely decorated. Guests can enjoy a spa and wellness centre, as well as taste the recipes at the guesthouse´s a la carte restaurant. Wi-Fi connection is free. Best place ever !! Everything was perfect !
