Design Hotel Navis 5 stars

Hotel in Opatija

Nestled on a rock above the sea, Design Hotel Navis offers an outdoor pool and a luxury interior. We truly enjoyed our 2 nights stay in Navis. Breakfast is excellent (can take from buffet and order a la carte, even classic breakfast like bacon and eggs don't look so classic anymore once brought to you. Great selection of wines, lovely and friendly staff/service. You can see they trully pay attention to place and guests. Place is quiet, great view, short walk to town center - would give it overall 9.7 of 10 score

San Canzian Village & Hotel 5 stars

Hotel in Buje

Set in the heart of Istria, in the medieval village of Mužolini Donji, San Canzian Village & Hotel offers a unique experience of nature, gastronomy and accommodation. Could not be better, from the accomodation - service - food - estate. I felt very well taken care of. Loved that staff gave a tour of restaurant facilities and explaining future plans. Did not try the fine dining menu, must next time. A la carte and breakfast was great too. Must be best place in Istria, for me best place anywhere.

FAQs about hotels in Istria

Land of History, Sun and Wine

The land of stony beaches, sapphire seas and rocky mountains, Istria is the largest peninsula of the Adriatic Sea. It’s a popular tourist destination famous for its cuisine, weather and wine.

Istria has been a part of many powerful empires: the Byzantine, Roman, Venetian, Austro-Hungarian and more recently, Yugoslavian. Each of them has left an easily recognisable mark on the architecture, giving you an opportunity for a crash course in the region’s fascinating past just by travelling around.

The Brijuni Islands are a must-see for that reason. They were once President Tito’s private property with a large zoo, over 200 dinosaur footprints and a never-ending stream of international guests, including heads of state and Hollywood film stars.

Located near the Brijuni is the largest city of the Istria region, Pula, best-known for the beautiful Roman architecture and tranquil countryside surrounding it, as well as for its winemaking and fishing traditions.

Whether you’re visiting Pula or other towns like Pazin, Porec or Opatija, make sure to visit local restaurants and try Italian-influenced dishes with famous Istrian peppers, truffles and seafood. Finish your meal with grappa or a glass of sweet wine - the best comes from the Kalavojna region.

Istria is a diverse region and Booking.com offers equally diverse properties. From boutique hotels to comfortable apartments, you have a range of nearly 600 properties to choose from.
