Design Hotel Navis 5 stars

Hotel in Opatija

Nestled on a rock above the sea, Design Hotel Navis offers an outdoor pool and a luxury interior. This hotel was my most favorite and most memorable of all of our trip. Value for money we 100% recommend staying here. You are warmly welcomed and offered a welcome drink on arrival (tea, coffee, bubbles) - nothing is a problem for any of the staff. A courtesy van is offered into the township to drop-off and pick-up (simply by calling and saying where you were) throughout the day and evening - so good for shopping and dinning out in the evening. The drivers were really kind, genuine and informative. We dined at their sister hotel up the hill (dropped off and collected) which has a wonderful view of the coast. Our waiter adapted the menu and answered all our questions - explaining everything on the menu. Local and fresh - perfect. The breakfast offered with the room is the best we have ever had (my wife took a video!) - she also said on check out that she felt like we had been treated like royalty - they replied that this was their goal. Thank you, thank you. We will recommend you ...and be back!

Remisens Premium Grand Hotel Palace 4 stars

Hotel in Opatija

Featuring a wellness & spa centre, the newly renovated Remisens Premium Grand Hotel Palace is housed in a beautiful Empire-style building, as one of the oldest hotel it is considered a local landmark.... I loved the Remisens Grand Hotel in Split. The staff was very accommodating and sweet- they parked my car for me. The room was an unexpected rooftop view of the waterfront and although small- it was just perfect. I loved swimming in the pool, taking a sauna & steam (by myself!) there were no screaming children or obnoxious tourists, so it was quite special and just what I needed. Had a great nights sleep, thank you!

FAQs about hotels in Istria

Land of History, Sun and Wine

The land of stony beaches, sapphire seas and rocky mountains, Istria is the largest peninsula of the Adriatic Sea. It’s a popular tourist destination famous for its cuisine, weather and wine.

Istria has been a part of many powerful empires: the Byzantine, Roman, Venetian, Austro-Hungarian and more recently, Yugoslavian. Each of them has left an easily recognisable mark on the architecture, giving you an opportunity for a crash course in the region’s fascinating past just by travelling around.

The Brijuni Islands are a must-see for that reason. They were once President Tito’s private property with a large zoo, over 200 dinosaur footprints and a never-ending stream of international guests, including heads of state and Hollywood film stars.

Located near the Brijuni is the largest city of the Istria region, Pula, best-known for the beautiful Roman architecture and tranquil countryside surrounding it, as well as for its winemaking and fishing traditions.

Whether you’re visiting Pula or other towns like Pazin, Porec or Opatija, make sure to visit local restaurants and try Italian-influenced dishes with famous Istrian peppers, truffles and seafood. Finish your meal with grappa or a glass of sweet wine - the best comes from the Kalavojna region.

Istria is a diverse region and Booking.com offers equally diverse properties. From boutique hotels to comfortable apartments, you have a range of nearly 600 properties to choose from.
